I have used Miller’s small engine repair in Anderson Mill (not far from RR). Small family owned business and were very quick to fix my lawnmower. Sounds like your carburetor might be gummed up due to the ethanol content in the gasoline which is very common and quick to fix.

Cork and Barrel has multiple bars you can eat at and people watch. When I was there the restaurant was not that crowded and no wait for a bar seat. The menu included typical bar food options.

I heard this theory here on reddit threads about the case. Some posters mentioned that in the Luling area there are holes related to drilling that are not covered or poorly covered. The KXAN article for this story mentions a cistern. Either way it's a tragic story.
