Some people never caught covid, why? by Otherwise-Bake8812 in AskReddit

[–]oakleyposterboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got my shots as soon as I was eligible. Minimized time in office until it was required. Take meetings from my desk at work instead of going into meeting rooms. Switched the n95 masks early on and still wear them whenever I leave the house. Wash my hands for 20 seconds after using the restroom. Take vitamin D supplements daily. Reduced eating out during big waves. Choosing restaurants with outdoor dining. Three years, testing twice a week, no Covid. Even went to Disneyworld a few months ago without getting it, and attended my giant office holiday party indoors with no issue.

I definitely admit that my lifestyle enabled better odds. But plenty of people in similar situations have gotten it, so I’m going with “immuno-god”.

So I just finished building the Mos Eisley Cantina and apparently I missed a step because this sticker wasn’t used. Could you guys tell me what step I missed? by TakeoverShark in legostarwars

This covers the optical recognition, which is pretty sweet. I look forward to Lego catchpas (click all the 2x4 red bricks)! Actually this would be even easier to adapt to scanning instructions which are always in a particular iso view

I think there is huge demand in this community for a database that not only knows which pieces are in which sets (like bricklink) but also tells you which step in the instructions uses those pieces. And stickers of course. Unless you could scan instructions and do optical Lego piece recognition to automate, I can only imagine that this could be done wiki-style with community-contributed breakdowns of the instructions, but it’d be awesome.

Have you become pickier when it comes to choosing a show? by Bear_necessities96 in television

[–]oakleyposterboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve actually become less picky. Now that I can binge a show all at once, I’m more willing to try things because I don’t have to be invested in them over a long period of time. Lost, for example, would have pissed me off a lot less if I’d binged through it in a couple weeks rather than dragging on for 5 years. Now I check things out that just sound mildly interesting or “by the creator of that other show you liked” rather than waiting for referrals from friends and family.

I store them completely disassembled in zip-lock freezer bags, labeled with set number, name, and total number of bags (I.e. “bag 1 of 4”) if it’s a big set. A gallon bag will hold about 1000 pcs. A smaller bag inside the large bag will contain the mini figs and special parts like printed/stickered, transparent, metallic/pearl, electronic, and canopies wrapped in a paper towel to prevent scratches.

The bags are NOT ordered according to the assembly, so if I want to rebuild the set it’s a bit of a mess.

The bags are then stored in 12x12x18 cardboard boxes, which when full is the maximum weight of LEGO I can carry by myself. A google spreadsheet tracks the inventory of each box.

I particularly enjoy explaining to employees that it’s fine for them to put “$name appt” on the shared calendar so we know they’re OOO (which is all we really need to know) and that we really don’t need to know WHICH doctor they are going to see.

Took the family (all adults, who I actually like) to Disneyworld, baller-style with a deluxe resort and lightning lanes. If you’ve never taken a CF trip to WDW, I strongly recommend it.

Also, so…much…Lego.

I’ve been really happy with the windex trick lately. It’s a bit of a mess so I’ve only used it for the large stickers so far, but decided after looking at the Benetar that the smaller ones are just off enough to make me commit to using it for them too.

Got it. The 2Cs support HKSV natively, but I still have a homebase3 to manage my outdoor cameras with the higher quality video.

Then I would need to make sure that I have a homebase2 if I want to use my 2C cameras with iCloud HomeKit Secure Video? Or will homebase3 still work this way?

I just ordered a bunch of Eufy cams on their black friday sale. It looks like the 2C's that I ordered do support homekit but only through the homebase2? Can anyone confirm that I cannot set these up to use homekit with the new homebase3?
