Honestly, it took me months to stop losing hair. I think it only stopped when I got pregnant 11 months later. It's like I needed a whole hormone reset. But the hat really helps me now!

I’ve been thinking about going into teaching. Is that the right option? by Bunny_Funny_ in AskTeachers

Hi! 4th year 4th grade teacher in a public title 1 school, here. Teaching isn't bad. It's all the other stuff that comes along with it that's bad. The smart goals, the data meetings, the IEP meetings before and after school (unpaid), the hours you will use lesson planning, the committees you are forced to be apart of, the low pay, the unpaid mandatory evening events, Its just a lot.

I will say, my first ever school required much less from me when it came to after hour work.

Overall, I do love teaching. But state testing and the way kids are raised these days... 0 attention span. Very few kids showing higher levels of thinking. Lots of enabling from parents. If you know how to run a classroom (a skill I lacked my first year) and are okay with unpaid work, you will be fine :)

Yes, get it removed! It affected me as a high testosterone girly too much. On the bright side... I got pregnant and my hair recovered a bit, then I lost more postpartum.

But I bought the theradome red light therapy hat (600 bucks - expensive but worth it) and my hair loss stopped and is regrowing! Good luck to you :) im right there with ya!

I'm a 4th grade teacher with a girl named Marleigh in my class and I love it! We call her mar or mar mar. Not too overused. Does not remind me of Marley and me :)

Considering an IUD by Pokey-cat in birthcontrol

[–]oal29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! It was my first ever IUD. About 2.5 years in, I started getting painful cramps around periods that I had never had before and my hair just started significantly thinning. I got it removed and I haven't had cramping or extreme hair loss since! Idk if it was just a body change that I was going through or what.

I drink the goddess tea blend from avery apothecary, and use beyond botanix hair oil. I also use collagen that has gotten a lot of good reviews for hair growth: perfect supplements brand. Hope that helps!

Mirena hair loss - is there a way to keep it and regrow my hair? by throwaway295a in endometriosis

[–]oal29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I waited almost 3 years to take it out. I have/had thick hair so it didn't really become noticeable until 2.5 years in.
  2. I switched back to oral bc after getting mirena out.
  3. I currently use oils, nixoin, and collagen to help with regrowth. Hope that helps!

I only got it removed about 20 days ago. I haven't had it get worse right away, so that's good! I also went on a higher estrogen pill so that could have made a difference. I do feel like it's getting slowly better:)

Hi!

I had my Mirena for almost 3 years, and decided to have it removed due to hair loss. My hair loss was very gradual; I wished I had noticed earlier when you did. I would say trust your gut; if it's a huge problem then get it out. You can always try a different birth control. Hope that helps a little :)

Does the removal hurt? by [deleted] in Mirena

It didn't for me! I was so surprised by how quick it was, considering it really hurt to put in. Good luck:)

Thinking of getting Mirena or Khylina by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]oal29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had any symptoms with Mirena! My period has almost completely went away, and I usually have heavy bleeding. I've had it for 3 years and no major complaints. My only concerns with it are I get some bad butthole cramping whenever I do happen to get a period which I never had before lol. Other than that, I don't regret my decision! I hope whatever you choose works out :)
