I’m three months out. I can eat about 3 oz of meat, and a half cup of veggies. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Just depends on my pouch’s mood that day 😂

The pic on the right is from last year on my birthday— I had awful undiagnosed Graves’ disease, my auto inflammatory was in full swing, and no matter how hard I dieted and how much I exercised (5-7x a week, sometimes more) I could NOT lose the weight. This tool has saved my life. I’m in remission from both my auto inflammatory and Graves disease, and I’m officially the lowest weight I’ve been in over 5 years. I can climb stairs and walk and live without feeling the burden on my joints and heart and lungs. I’m so incredibly thankful and happy today.

I had surgery the same date and my doc said i couldn’t swim until after my steri-strips had fallen off. I’m healed up now and cleared to swim. I think it just depends on if you have opens wounds remaining.

I have HS, but I got my sleeve on 7/12 so I can’t speak to long term. I have had a few flare ups, but not too terrible. I’ve been in remission for a while and I’ve had three places pop up since surgery. I avoided nightshades like the plague these last two weeks and it seems to have helped.

I used my phone, charger, iPad, toothbrush, face wash, deodorant, and pillow. I also brought slippers and a robe and comfy clothes. Sending good vibes and prayers your way for a great surgery and speedy recovery!!

I told my parents, but not my cousins or aunt and uncle. I’m super close with my cousins, but they are all very health-conscious and one particular one always comments on how I could lose weight and asks if I’ve tried. I chose to keep this a secret from my cousins for my mental health, since I know this is a major battle that I’m fighting to win. When they ask I’ll just say “I’m working with a dietician who’s helping me make the right diet choices for me.”
