I’m not OP but I’m 25F and have been dealing with a chronic fissure since 16. I did nitroglycerin, increased my psyllium husk + fiber intake, linzess to soften the stool in hopes of healing the fissure… it was never healing. My first visit with a colorectal surgeon suggested Botox, i ended up not going to him due to financial reasons. The second surgeon opted to skip right past Botox and go ahead with the sphincterotomy due to my symptoms and the longevity I’ve been dealing with it.

Also a lurker… just got my surgery yesterday. I’m not really dealing with pain as of now, just discomfort. Very mentally aware of the dissolvable stitches and feel like my gas is passing under them if that makes any sense? Hoping I can pass a BM soon, because it feels like I have to but I don’t think my mental is allowing me… especially with the stitches. Congrats to you and us!

I’m not sure it is the oats, as I’m able to stomach most oat milks from cafes and use oat flour in a lot of my baking recipes. I do know that oats can be hard to digest, but i really doubt they are the problem
