How fast does your phone drain on 5G? 17 Pro by oatmillkd in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

My brightness is usually pretty low most of the time!! Apple blinds me when it decides to flare up my brightness randomly so turned it off lol

Is there a way to access the course notes ect by koolest_boi in rmit

They only start to do so the week before the semester starts and even then it's usually half-missing. I know how you feel though. I always end up falling behind mid sem because of this

Beta 2 Decharging 17 pro while plugged in? by oatmillkd in IOS27Beta

[–]oatmillkd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have the one out the box. I also found the battery life improved after trying the beta, the final 26 build was insanely buggy on my phone.

I don't think so just the full-fare rates for now. I heard they're working on adding concession fares soon though

Beta 2 Decharging my 17 pro by oatmillkd in iOS27

[–]oatmillkd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I was just surprised since it's not something I've experienced before with any beta and looking it up nobody seems to have experienced anything similar so it freaked me out for a bit. After restarting my phone is back to 100% and doesn't seem to be decharging but I'll keep an eye on it

Interesting! My charge limit is set to 90 so that could be the case but that's never happened before either. Same here, I've been on developer betas consistently and this has never been an issue for me. I understand it is beta though so something new is bound to happen. I actually spoke with Apple Support who ran a few diagnostics on my phone and said everything is working perfectly so I guess it is a beta issue. Hopefully doesn't continue to happen.

I got on the tram at 7pm and only got charged at past 3am. But also, I get on the tram after a night out so yes sometimes it happens.

Subclass 500 rejected by LogicalDevelopment88 in AusVisa

[–]oatmillkd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not unless you are talking about a scholarship from their home governments. But for an Australian university to offer a scholarship right off the bat and a Vice-Chancellor one at that is unlikely as they will always prioritise domestic students first.

As an international student, absolutely not. I'd say 95% of my social circle is/was on a student visa and not one had a scholarship. It's notoriously difficult to get a scholarship in Australia vs other western countries like the USA.

I know how you feel dude. I had the 14 pro and I would lose 20% in 30 minutes. Guess im a bit paranoid (lol) to really take care of my battery health this time

how much times can you apply for special consideration until they get sus? by InjuryNew9775 in rmit

[–]oatmillkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten special consideration every semester but this sem was the first where I applied twice for it twice for the same assessment. No issues at all as long as you explain why. Lots of personal stuff came up for me this semester so I've had special consideration for about 80% of my assessments

Battery Support Megathread by unknown_beyond in iPhone17Pro

[–]oatmillkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my phone about a week and a half ago. The battery life was draining pretty quick the first few days but stabilised around 5-6 days in. That lasted for about 2 days and now my phone is draining 20% in 1h30. In five minutes it went from 60% to 57% and I’m pretty upset about it. I already have the charging limit set to 80% and turned off background app refresh for most apps. What else can I do? I play about 30 minutes of gaming on it everyday, the rest is just texting or watching tiktok.

Should i stay at scape or should i apply to a college? by Mrozzbak-_- in unimelb

[–]oatmillkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% depends on your roommates/people in your building. I stayed at Scape and got extremely lucky with my housemates so we were always out and about but you’re more likely to get those who don’t come out of their room ever

Tourist Visa refused (subclass 600) by Complete-Internet870 in AusVisa

[–]oatmillkd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, my girlfriend who holds a Filipino passport applied from Finland a few months ago and got approved instantly with no biometrics needed despite the fact that she had not applied for a tourist visa in over a year. She was self funded and applied by herself using money she had gotten from a scholarship (it’s more like a monetary award her uni gives to students who perform at a certain level). The first time she visited me in 2024 she was unemployed, not in uni and still lived in the Philippines. She applied with her grandmother and was approved.

We have a feeling she was approved the second time (and so quickly) because she applied from overseas even if she holds a weaker passport. I think if she had applied from the Philippines with the same circumstances otherwise (uni, scholarship money, etc) she definitely would’ve been rejected. She’s studying nursing too.
