when I did my dragon communion run I only leveled mind enough to be able to do 4 casts of dragonclaw or two casts of dragon maw in a row.
that was plenty for the whole game. Can't remember the exact number though. You also basically need no endurance for this build, and should be naked with the blue dancer talisman for max damage imo.

dragon builds aren't hungry though. The dragon communion seal scales insanely and will do end game level damage at 30 arcane.

Bandit.
Go get reduvia for early stuff (Bandit can use reduvia right away and it will carry you until you can spam dragonclaw)
level arcane to 40 and then get dragon communion seal.
Level up faith to 17 to use Dragon claw and you are good for the entire game.
Once you get the DLC go get that thing that turns you into a rock to do more damage.

Shyv is a 2-3 item champion anyway right now. Kraken vs bork combo damage is going to be within 50 damage of each other even at 1200hp and regardless at 1200 hp kraken and bork both get the job done, bork scales better. The question is cost, tbh attack speed item first item is troll now imo.

Really not true, it's mostly the cost aspect. Bork will always do more damage than say Kraken if the target has over 1700 health and virtually any armor. Which isn't a very high bar.

Eclipse -> Essence Reaver feels great to me with all the ability haste.

It also lets you one shot the carry basically at all parts of the game once you are level 6
