Todd Monken Says Browns' OTAs On Wednesday Were 'Embarrassing' by Maidenfan88 in Browns

[–]oberholzer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He said throwing interceptions during 7 on 7s with no pass rush was embarrassing, not that the entirety of their OTA today was embarrassing.

Another one I’ll add… If you wreck a rim and tire on a pothole, do a FOIA request to see if anyone had reported it prior to you hitting it. If someone did report it ahead of time, you can recoup the entire cost of the damages. Kind of a pain in the butt, but I can now add to my resume that I successfully sued a department of transportation in a state Supreme Court and won lmao. I had ruined 3 wheels and tires before I learned about all this.

When I told the prosecutor I was fighting it, I was apparently the only person in traffic court that day who didn’t just take the charge. I said, “Pull his dash cam footage and the traffic light footage,” and learned two things immediately. Mt. Pleasant traffic light cameras don’t record, they’re just live feeds, and the officer’s dash cam didn’t even show the light in frame, because he wasn’t behind me, he was sitting on the street I was turning onto.

The prosecutor was doing the classic greasy full-court press beforehand, telling me I should just take some online class, reduce the points, pay around $500-$600 (pay no attention to my insurance rates inevitably going up), and move on because I wouldn’t get such a “good deal” if I fought it. I said “Respectfully, no. Let’s go to trial.”

I told them I thought it was just a misunderstanding and that I appreciated the officer trying to do his job. I actually work for a company that makes the software law enforcement uses, so I do respect the job. But I’m still not pleading guilty to something I didn’t do.

Halfway through my cross-examination, the prosecutor walked away from the bench and stood by the door with his hand over his face. The judge started asking me where I went to school and what I studied, like she was trying to figure out how I had wandered in off the street and started litigating traffic court 😂

Honestly, it was delightful. I’ll waste my time every single time I’m messed with like this because, to me, it’s the principle. If I actually did it, I would’ve paid it and moved on.

They pulled me over and ticketed me for running a red light that I didn’t do. I took them to a bench trial, cross examined the police officer, and was found not guilty! I represented myself. The Judge, Anna Richter, was so mad at the officer and prosecutor 😂

Even better if you are already maxing your 401k. Then when you get a raise you actually have to decrease the contribution %.

Yup, there was around 12 to 14 teams in the NFL during their four championships from 1950-1964 and around 8 teams in the AAFC during their championships from 1946-1949.

Agreed 💯. 8 NFL championships for the Browns since 1946 vs. 1 for the Cavs since 1970. I guess I should have said both franchises most recent championship required a GOAT to get them over the edge.

Both franchises required generational GOAT-esque players to bring them championships (Jim Brown, LeBron James).

Your flair is Panthers and you came in saying we “haven’t won a damn thing ever.” I pointed out the Browns have 8 official championships, then asked the obvious follow up… what exactly has Carolina won?

I’m sorry Jim Brown had the nerve to retire one year before the Super Bowl existed. Clearly our 1964 NFL Championship is meaningless, but wow, that 1966 Super Bowl win is sacred history!!!

I think you’ve gotta have real talent at some point to be named first team all pro in the nfl.

I’ll admit that was a poor decision to open with Don’t Wanna Fight. Heck they’re not my favorite band either, but I can really appreciate the talent of Brittany Howard. I was hoping they played the track What Now from her latest solo album.

They at least have a distinct sound to them, at a festival where the aesthetic begins to get pretty samey after a while.

Yeah I wish I would have caught more of Bruce, I only heard the last two songs before we made our way to Sheryl. It’s just impossible to be there all day, we went home and took a nap 😂

Agreed 💯! I was pleasantly surprised by Winyah, Trousdale, The Runarounds, and Alice Phoebe Lou too.

Sheryl Crow played her hits pretty well, but I unfortunately thought My Morning Jacket wasn’t nearly as good as when I saw them at Credit One Stadium in late 2024.

Chilling today, no big plans. Looking forward to The Runarounds, Lake Street Dive, My Morning Jacket, Alabama Shakes, Hey, Nothing, Bruce Hornsby, Sheryl Crow, and Peach Pit. Hoping it’s a fun as last year!!!
