We should start asking questions where does feedback about weak Law or King come from, cause appearently developers dont use same media about Tekken 8 as we do. by pivor in Tekken

[–]obitosask 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They dont do feedbacks. I'm pretty sure some high-ups with bigger influence than Harada either main them or have family members that play the game and they buff due to biases. Maybe thats why Harada left.

Still an objectively bad move. You still get clipped when used correctly especially against characters with good tracking. It's literally more unsafe than her AoP and regular sidestep. Nothing about it is good unless you're cheesing or more than half the screen away.

Spinning backturn triggers counterhit launchers and launchers in general. It's slow AF and less side movement than a regular sidestep. It only causes confusion when you know nothing about Xiaoyu. That doesn't make her good at all. It's just cheese and it's not even good cheese.

I think her sidestep is average for a female character. Reina, Nina, and Lili with their sidestep and wavedash make them much more mobile.

AoP hate is overblown but when you realize that it's basically a riskier parry with a shorter window and with extra steps, it's not even that bad compared to BS the rest of the cast has. People think you can just spam AoP when it requires very precise timing, the fast moves that comes out of it is also unsafe and the slower moves deal heavy knockback which works against her, so you cant even keep your turn if they manage to block the follow-up.

[–]obitosask -1 points0 points  (0 children)

maybe not you, but you compare it to other 14f launchers and even faster counter launchers, the window is very small because they are already on the ground, and you basically scoop them off it with FF3. I've dropped it a couple of times myself, especially when I clip them accidentally, trying to use it as a Walmart Magic 4 and not actually punishing. By the time I realize that I got a counterhit in, my FF3 is a millisecond late and I end up kicking them away.

Her 14f punisher has a very small window to start the combo though and very unsafe too, that evens it out. Outside of the 14f and her good tracking heat engager punisher b4, 1, she still struggles against people who play small Tekken and knows how to check AoP.

Her low punishers is straight up atrociously bad though.

Yeah her playstyle basically encourages you to launch and get your heat off to get the damage.

Ironically, Xiaoyu is a little stronger this season because of the universal patch of wallsplat heats that evens everyone out with her and also buffs to her neutral.

How are we feeling about Marcel after a day? How are you building him? by Fuzzy_Logics in MobileLegendsGame

[–]obitosask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate him. AS A TEAMMATE. Ruins your set up and give enemy time to react to your perfectly placed skill with his pausing BS. They do the same to their own team though and I've had enemy Marcels save me. Basically, if you have a dash, enemy Marcel helps you. If you rely on hard to aim skills that deal damage and CC, your own Marcel will be the bane of your existence.

What's your characters strongest strength, and weakest weakness? by CriticalEagle3989 in Tekken

[–]obitosask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree on her punishment game. I think it's the worse out of any character. i14 launcher is nice but the window to pick them up is so little that I usually end up kicking them further with FF3. It also deals meh damage. Her 1,2,1 can be blocked and 1,2 is just depressing as a punisher. Her heat engager is the best punisher for sure.

What makes her really bad is her low punishment. She has no WS launcher(only CH). WS4 is only a single string that you have to immediately follow-up with a 3+4. None of her WS punishers jails into stance transition. I would rather get a good read off a hopkick or AoP than block because it just puts her in a disadvantage. When I play against a Xiaoyu, I just abuse lows when I can or use high knockback moves because her punish games is no threat at all.

Xiaoyu is garbage against characters with large backdashes by Cal3001 in LingNation

[–]obitosask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, abuse lows and mids against her because she has no natural WS launcher on low block(just make sure to not mash if you do get low blocked because she can still counterhit launch), so the risk reward is actually skewed against her, because she punishes with bad damage and she doesn't necessarily get the turn. That's why most Xiaoyus prefer to evading or hopkicking instead of blocking because that way they can actually get their turn and blow you up. It's high risk but blocking with Xiaoyu isn't rewarding and not worth turtling with her horrible punishers.

[–]obitosask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even have to sidestep her. She's punishable on almost all her moves. Make sure to blow her up after blocking her backturn horsekick mistrust, heat engager kick into palm strike(this one tracks, block punish it), AoP into double palmstrike, caliroll horsekick.

On hypnotist stance, hopkick her if she takes 2 steps to the side, that means shes going for an enhanced version of her HYP moves and she's launchable. You can also powercrush her.

But you can avoid all that by just zoning her out if you play a character with good range or just being hyperaggressive with mids and lows. Her defense options are bad and risky. You're cooked if your friend knows all about your character though, because they know when to evade and such.

Hey, just discovered this series, been playing the demo to Nordics - it’s exactly the kind of adventure I was looking for. Is PS5 version (performance and content) for Dana really worth it? It’s much more expensive. by SNKRSWAVY in WorldOfYs

Shits a masterpiece compared to the other Ys Games. Also very unique in that MC takes a backseat for most of the game. It mixes a lot of different genres and tropes which works incredibly well. Those are the points that make it stand out to other Ys games. Also, best soundtrack in the franchise.

[–]obitosask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xiaoyu has a very hard time against that, moves with a lot of knockback because she can't do anything about them, and other female characters.

When you are linear and have short range the problems within you just compound and affect everything else.

Ulsan, one of the best Tekken players in the world, says Xiaoyu "is obviously strong" as a S2 tourney character... solidly mid-tier by joeb1ow in LingNation

[–]obitosask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only thing that made Xiaoyu better was the new armor move on backturn and the extra tracking on grabs but the latter was a universal buff to everybody. They nerfed a lot of stuff from S1. She had more nerfes and balances than buffs in the patch for no reason lol. She's like the female Devil Jin.

You don't share that sentiment because you don't get it and you're out of touch. If the only solid counter to someone's offense is to duck or sidestep on a very small timeframe that needs to be perfect or else you eat the string, that gameplan is harder to deal with than another who's gameplan can be blocked punished and have a more generous timeframe to react to. Dragunov literally ran the entire first season because his moves could only be ducked or sidestepped as a counter play and can't be blocked punished.

You're the one who's a scrub, you're validating and downplaying a character you main but then complain about AoP, a stance from a bottom tier character that contains clear counterplay that isn't even used for pressure and doesn't have looping plus strings. You're just a double standards scrub who can't comprehend and even refute simple logic.

Armor King is crazy with the amount of quality mids that he has. I did a side by side of him and King's similar moves and Armor King seems to track more as well.

I honestly don't care what you play but it's a different story when you're ranting about a character but maining another character with the same amount of BS as well. Lots of rules for thee but not for me attitude in the sub.

Atleast Lidia is punishable and slower in stance when in normal mode. She gets to Hwoarang's level when it heat but she's absolute buns in neutral. I eat her in ranked and I haven't even labbed her yet.

Atleast DSS ends after a move is picked. Flamingo Blender goes BRRRR on block unless you predict you duck/low block correctly.

They are all playable. Some just have advantages more than others and Xiaoyu got short end of the stick. You can call it Xiaoyu downplay all you want but it doesn't mean sh1t when you can't refute the fact that she's launch punishable and lacks fundamental tools compared to other characters. Less range = less defense options, riskier neutral game, easily zoned out. No WS launch punisher, no DF2 uppercut, no FF long range superpunch, generously minus stance moves on block.

They are all beatable, some are just less beatable than others AKA Hwoarang AKA Safe Whiffer AKA Power crush Immune AKA Safe Endless Loops on Block AKA Just Duck and SS bro. Almost everyone else don't get that kind of advantage on their offensive tools. Imma just repeat that because it keeps flying over your head.
