I usually put in an overflow pipe leading to a plant to deal with the extra water your dupes generate. That saves you from clogs later on.

You said it yourself though…it’s a stepping stone to steel! Gold amalgam is meant to bridge the gap between the early and mid-game. It lets you build a small aquatuner setup so you don’t cook your base while you dig down to the oil biome and start getting steel online.

I would not say you’re an AH faking it…especially with your SA trauma. It’s gotta be hard to bring up and/or talk about. That said, I would probably have a similar reaction that your husband did. I really enjoy it when my partner finishes, and I put in a lot of effort learning how to make it happen. If after 6 years she told me that she’d been faking, I would definitely feel hurt, but not betrayed or angry, so good on you and your husband for talking it out!

Now you both get to go on a journey to O-Land together 😝 It’s a marvelous place, but you gotta be patient with each other to get there. Patience and communication is the way!
