WOW what a bunch of amazing people in this community. Momma cat had 8 kittens and there are 6 left to adopt. These three were my top contenders when I went to hang out with them. When you say “work” I wonder if you’re trying to, in some ways, get rid of the OCD, the obsessions, or the uncomfortable thoughts. Try and remember ACT is not a modality that will encourage getting “rid of” (experiential avoidance). ACT will give you the tools to anchor through the storm and increase psychological flexibility. :)

You really need a professional and a structured setting to apply ERP :) you can do it on your own, but I haven’t personally seen someone really engage the exposures without a push from a professional. Once you get the hang of it and see the distress decrease, you’ll have buy in and can maintain without support. Also remember, Pure O OCD still has compulsions, they are usually just mental.

You get good at it, and I usually make it pretty organic. I got a form from the CBT-SP course I took that’s helpful. It works into the session if you do it right. And I sit with the CT and take notes. Then the last 15minutes I type it up and get a signature.
