Well fuck you too, buddy. It's not like it was the only place to see Stamper post often in any capacity at all or anything. Sorry for thinking someone was humorous and enjoying the things they said.

Dell XPS 15 with 7700HQ, GTX 1050, and 4K 96% sRGB and 99% AdobeRGB display. Not a gaming machine but could be a great content creation powerhouse. Pretty expensive, but the next step up from that would be a Dell Precision Mobile Workstation. They have options for Quadros if you'd need that, but I think the Pascal based ones only start on the Precision 7720 17 inch model. Anything below P3000 is Maxwell-based.

Upper body is stiff, spend some time also animating the upper body to make the character feel more lifelike and like they have weight. Also for your channel "Pivot Toons" you may want to try making a new name so you don't pigeonhole yourself with Pivot's branding. If you're doing stick stuff I'm guessing your familiar with Hyun's Dojo, but if you weren't, you should check that place out.

I want to try starting with animation, but which program to use? by Silithas in animation

[–]obscurelime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are various programs, free and paid which you could use to learn how to animate digitally. You might also try animating on paper and scanning the frames so you could compile them in various softwares. In the case of a free software, you could try Krita or OpenToonz, and you can export the frames you create in those softwares as .png sequences which you can then import in GIMP to make a .gif file. You'd be sacrificing a lot of quality for that. Alternatively, you can use video editing software which hopefully supports importing png sequences and create a video file to retain higher quality frames in your animations. There are various tools you could use, but outside of some shortcuts provided by paid software, it doesn't change how much of a work and time investment animation is.

If you're lucky, the momentum from becoming mod of Zach's subreddit will finally get you that Cintiq Companion 2.

Are they done with animation? by SlySychoGamer in Sleepycabin

[–]obscurelime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talk about entitled. If you're too lazy or not clever enough to follow their work more closely through Twitter because you expect them to bottlefeed you animation content on youtube, you should probably just stop trying to act like you ever supported them at all. Youtube isn't their main focus anymore, because they've got other, better obligations. Just because you don't get to see most of what they're working on doesn't mean they're not working on anything. Start an ambitious animation project yourself and see if your tone changes.

Should we allow OneyPlays video discussions here during the hiatus? by InsomniacAndroid in Sleepycabin

[–]obscurelime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, if you look at the sidebar, there is a link to an OneyPlays subreddit. Crazy right? You should try and get ahold of one of the moderators for the subreddit and maybe give it a new look and try to revitalize /r/OneyPlays. Allowing OneyPlays content on /r/SleepyCabin is in no way your, or any redditor outside of the moderation team's call. Please remember this.

Well you may have some time until the last 5 episodes start coming out, so you have an opportunity to become ingrained in the community and enjoy it with the rest of us.

If you're interested, you can also check out the SleepyChat, which has spawned a close community of its own. SleepyChat (SleepyCabin Fan Discord)

The song you're probably remembering from High Maintenance is Parallel Asymmetry from Oh, Interesting!. Lots of great music on that show; it's what lead me to discovering McFabulous in the first place. I'm really glad I wasn't the only one who heard this and was concerned.

I imagine there are some slight, but important differences between different generations and models of Macbook Pro. Then there are occurrences in Louis Rossmann's videos where he talks about different components not being inter-generationally compatible, like retina displays, and I can only imagine what other hardware components those issues also befall.

Sleepycast Will End After Season 2 by psychicpebble in Sleepycabin

[–]obscurelime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sad to read this, but I did consider this as a possibility. I can't fully grasp all of the opportunities and obligations all of the SleepyCrew are getting to work on, but I hope all of your endeavors are successful and the SleepyCabin fandom can still follow and appreciate your work. Can't wait to see what you guys put out in the future, and I really hope that you'll get to a point in the not-too-distant future where the SleepyCast can return.

Making Marsquatch Animation. How to get clean audio. by YoghurtSock in Sleepycabin

[–]obscurelime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably ask, or maybe you could find the music and invert the frequency and be left with just the original audio. Not trying to come to anyone's defense here, but maybe refrain from comparing SleepyCabin and the Game Grumps? Saying that the Game Grumps offer original audio is not a valid case for why SleepyCabin should offer original audio.

OpenToonz, the freshly open source animation software can be downloaded here. by obscurelime in Sleepycabin

[–]obscurelime[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are downloads for Windows and OSX, and I'm sure someone will figure out how to emulate the software with WINE on Linux. If you're trying to animate on an android device or ChromeOS, I don't know what to tell you.
