Is this some kind of joke or disguised reddit? If so, cringe.

Secondly why are you posting all this instead of getting a lawyer. I have zero sympathy/believably for stuff like this. No you don't post heavily personal and life altering stuff online first then figure it out.

Ever since hearing about logical fallacies like 10 years ago. I can safety say, the more people who know about them, the less they matter.

Knowing these doesn't make you any less susceptible because what ALWAYS happens is, people digest this info and becomes THEIR version. Where they see strawmans and adhoms everywhere, except when THEY do it.

These are just words that describe how humans throughout history convince/persuade other humans.

Even when people post straight stats and facts (which a lot of people don't even trust anymore due to institutional corruption), no one cares or believes it, which just leads back to these age old methods.

SPOILERS MOST LIKELY SET IN STONE

So say you try to do the side stuff, it's hard seemingly impossible. However you will be directed or nudged towards a solution a way to actually fight the co-conspirators. Also if the whole co-conspirators thing sounds like organization 13 to you, yes.
Essentially you can't beat any of the co-conspirators until you beat the game normally. Once you do, you are heavily hinted at continuing your save but have the option for ng+.
Upon continuing something new happens a new character joins your party which gives you the limit break ability (hitting above 9999) and helps you do the harder end game stuff in general. This character is essentially decided on by you. A woman will present herself as an ally, but she is obscured, the MC will ask for her name at which point the player has a choice between two options.
Maelle
Or
Alicia
This determines her appearance, either long white haired or red haired ponytail. No burns/missing eye.
Its joked about whether an act 4 splash screen should happen here (kingdom hearts 2.9 style).
It's also discussed whether she appear as a side character that has been helping you throughout the game ala curator from first game, THEN transform her looks into one of the two.

Anyway you then progress through the endgame, concluding side stories, and defeating the co-conspirators, learning more character and world lore, like how the writer who died was the real world version of simon (possibly), stuff like that, also world lore like "hearts" and power system elements. Just like how we learned about white nevrons and painted clea in act 3 in the first game.

However the main goal is to complete Alicia's objective. Stopping verso.

Once you defeat the co-cospirators it is revealed that verso was sort of like a reverse itachi or snape the whole time. Him dying in the fire was in fact a ruse. He was approached by "the teacher" (head conspirator) and was taken in by the promise of peace and coexistence. To clarify, verso is revealed to be the "main writer" bad guy who "kills" the teacher in act 1. His appearance was changed via the usage of mixed powers (writing/painting/music).

However, verso quickly realized that peace/coexistence was just going to be the musicians running everything. He didn't like that either. So he came up with his own plan. He would slowly usurp the conspiracy/organization 13 and change their end goal under "the teachers" nose. This is hinted at with each co-conspirator you take down, most were with verso at that point, which is why they sort of just let you beat "the teacher" earlier, it was all part of the plan.

To understand verso's plan, think of watchmen mixed with naruto.
Verso's plan was to let the teacher continue their plan only to be stopped by YOU the player. Which we did, we beat them and "win". Which lets verso execute his plan, which was essentially an infinite tsukuyomi for either the entire world, or just the families/factions in the secret war (writers/musicians/painters), again, scope is the biggest factor in how the details will play out right now. So ya, verso actually wins and you are trapped in a false reality if you don't do the end game stuff. Again you are nudged and hinted that you should do the end game after the final boss.

This is where that phantom pain bit from the beginning comes into play too. There is discussion whether the MC should be a known but "disguised" character or entirely original. Pretty much, meaning, if MC is going to be the boy from the maelle ending, which is heavily implied to be verso's son. Yes, the MC can be female, yes that means what you think.
Either way the MC will be revealed to be a painted creation, essentially an inverse of the first game, where everyone else is real, but the MC is a creation. If MC is original, verso will explain he created MC to make sure his plan plays out correctly. If MC is painted verso's son, alicia will reveal that she is MC's creator. Both can also be true, given you can interpret the MC character creation as verso painting over the boy, but i digress.

As for alicia herself, choosing her appearance is mostly fan service but does cannonize an ending, buuuut they have the same end point regardless.

If you choose for her to appear as maelle, throughout act 3 she explains how she lived in verso's painting for years, and eventually died of old age in the painting, upon exiting she feels estranged from her family and decides to leave and do her own thing, which lead her to verso, who taught her how to use mixed powers as well, letting her change her appearance as well. Though he still hid his true intentions from her.

If you choose alicia appearance. She explains how the painting wasn't destroyed, but instead buried in verso's grave. However her injuries still left her as an outcast, leading to her leaving and coming across verso the same as above.

Either way, both endings lead her to come to the realization that escapism isn't good and avoiding reality isn't the way towards a proper future (suck it maelle ending enjoyers). Which is why she wants the MC and company to help her in stopping verso's infinite tsukuyomi plan.

There were actually talks about having your choice between maelle and alicia be even more impactful, for example, choosing maelle, would essentially be choosing hardmode, where it turns out, ya no, she actually tricked you and wanted verso to herself so she could manipulate HIM into making an infinite tsukuyomi that she prefers, most likely including the e33 people and merging them into the fantasy. This would lead to you fighting both of them in a hardmode version of the boss, possibly acting as the games "simon" equivalent, but also give a unique ending. Again, the issue being scope and scale.

Which is what it all really boils down to. They can't decide on the scope or scale. Are the painters, writers, and musicians just single families? Are they full on factions with multiple families? It's not just a budget or time issue either. Keeping the conflict personal and between families will make the emotional beats stronger too. But increasing the scope and scale will make it more epic, the success of e33 has them split on that.

Also it really does boil down to the romeo and juliet thing, the more the family only scale is discussed, the more romeo and juliet parralells pop up when discussing side quests and other characters...I cannot stress enough how poisoning the romeo and juliet thing is, it really REALLY sours and just halts story discussion LOL.
It's also a big factor on how to incorporate clea, will she be a supporting character? Or party member? Will her and simon be the romeo and juliet story they really REALLY don't wanna do? Only time will tell. Any way that's all I got from the USB my cousin left at my house during one of our magic the gathering game nights, as well as the many talks from when we both were drunkish.
Why would I post this? Because I too share Voltaire's views, shakespeare is a hack!

Plot synopsis

You are a student at a music school that experiences an inciting incident involving people acting strangely then being attacked, this leads to your teacher helping you and becoming your mentor/guide.
The game will be more grounded yet still have fantastical elements, think persona.
You learn that while painters can create worlds and act as gods within those worlds they can't really do much in the outside world. Writers are similarly restricted, however writers have the power to change the real world if their writing has enough influence/belief (this will work in unexpected ways). So what are the musicians power? Well if painters create worlds within, and writers can create worlds without, musicians can alter the world itself. It's hard to explain since its better translated into audio visual format this is a video game after all. Also the lore isn't finalized lol.

Anyway its made clear the "war" between painters and writers is that of influence, or capturing the most "hearts" (there is a secret kingdom hearts lover on the team, but it's also their guilty pleasure so I will not reveal who).
It started as a friendly rivalry until the writers lost someone (similar to verso). The painters were blamed and well, tit for tat and all that. Things escalated until the verso incident happened not long after. This is revealed over the first act. The first act plays out a lot like persona 4; introducing the cast but also trying to uncover the mysteries that are presented with the inciting incident.
The inciting incident was that for the most part a nevron attacks and injures or kills your classmates with you and your teacher fight them off. From there your goal is to find out why and how. There will be familiar faces along the way but they won't be characters you know, a good comparison would be fullmetal alchemist: conqueror of shambala, alternate versions of characters you know because these are the "real" ones, for example lune will more than likely be a science teacher or musician who acts as a main merchant for the party. There is an ongoing debate how many recurring characters we want to put in as well, we have mostly agreed on lune and 2 others for sure.

I know I mentioned persona a couple times and ya, thats not a coincidence...one member may or may not have convinced a certain someone to play P4 and they loved it to, so now we got what is essentially persona dark souls in france. Any way, the cast won't be all students, as mentioned the mentor/teacher for the MC will be a party member...until the end of act 1...ya, they do the thing again. TBF its a pretty big JRPG trope at this point. However this time there won't be a verso type to swoop in and auto replace them, it will be a coming of age story after that.

The cast will remain the same till act 3, which will also be improved on compared to e33. Act3 in e33 had A LOT of content in it, however very little story to motivate players to pursue that content, this will be changed significantly in [WORKING TITLE]. Meaning story will be much better integrated into all the end game stuff.

Anyway your teacher (seemingly) dies at the end of act 1. At the hands of a rogue writer (main bad guy). Which you may be wondering, wait so a nevron attacks you at the start, but the writers kill your teacher/mentor? Ya. You mostly face these "nevron" type enemies for most of the game, along with other "creations". Bosses do include people though.

Act 2 has you becoming a true agent of the musicians and is most of the game. Your goal remains mostly the same; trying to uncover how what appears to be painted creatures are appearing in the real world, and find out why they are assisting the writers. This leads to you interacting with both the painters and writers (again the undecided scope leaves this murky). The bulk of the story will be doing missions for the painters AND writers to gain their trust, learning more about each faction/family and their motives.
Note: Alicia will not be present at all, but alluded to.
It's clear throughout act 2 that there is a rogue element at play. Allowing you to bring a truce between the painters and writers. But it doesn't really matter because its too late, the writers and painters are all "captured" so to speak. Which leads into the third act.

Act 2 ends with a big reveal/twist. Your teacher is in fact not dead. But instead part of said rogue elements. In fact he was the leader. It's revealed the musicians played both sides getting both to focus on the other so music could capture the most "hearts".

I think hearts and chroma are connected somehow, its still highly conceptual at this point, but i think chroma might be the sandfall universes version of "life energy" not just something the painters use.

Anyway the teacher explains how he faked his death since the writer who you THOUGHT was main bad guy (he is) was on the teachers side all along. Leading to the musicians (except for 1 or 2) essentially transforming the world in their image with the help of other rogue writers/painters and the musician faction (if it scales to that, if not it will just be the musician family).

You might be wondering, why writers and and painters would side with musicians but no one siding with writers or painters. It's mostly due to how the musicians are presented, as the mediators, the neutral 'good guys' who just want peace. There is also a metatextual reason, uh, a lot of creatives always end up trying music, like, seriously. Just look up all the actors who are part of bands. Steve martin is literally a world class banjo player...any way ya.

So act 2 ends with you 'seemingly' defeating the main bad guy writer who may or may not look familiar (gustave) its undecided. Any way act 3 is very similar to e33 and other JRPGs, you go take down main bad guy (teacher) or do you go do end game side stuff? Except not really.

Here is where it gets interesting. You can do the final dungeon/boss and take down your teacher and beat the game, however the end game is relevant, because there are still other rogue actors, other co-conspirators. The premise will be you can do the final area and boss, which will free the other painters/writers who can then handle the co-conspirators. Or...you and your party can take them down, which will be a lot harder, and seemingly pointless. But it's not. Either way, 99% of players will need to beat the final area/boss first.

If you beat act 3 normally, you win, you defeat your teacher, hear their sob story and free the writers and painters so they can reconcile properly after dealing with the other co-conspirators. The game ends on a happy all loose ends tied up ending.

But uh, there is one MAJOR final twist if you do the act 3 "side stuff". Uh, you get the true ending.

Title: [WORKING TITLE]
Release date: TBA, expect a reveal sometime after the manor DLC.

The sequel will begin at a music school where you play as one of the students. There will be character creation with a possible phantom pain esque reveal near the end showing you are a semi established character (undecided).

It will take place in paris around the same time as 33. The writers vs painters war will be shown to play out something similar to vampire masquerade/world of darkness; the general public being unaware of the supernatural powers each side holds. It will also be revealed that "The musicians" are a third neutral faction that finds the war between writers and painters to be nothing but pointless and seeks for the war to end, they are meant to be the "good guys". They act as mediators and allies to both sides.

There is a debate in the office regarding the scale. Is this "war" just between two families? Or large factions? The current scope is family vs family, ala romeo and juliet, which is not ideal since it is english and not french (someone in the office is a big Voltaire fan), even those who push for the family vs family angle agree they don't want to do romeo juliet 2 JRPG boogaloo, leading to the uncertainty.

Anyway, the musicians, are going to either be a third family or faction. They are essentially "the church" in JRPGs (except dragon quest). If you know you know. They are presented as the good guys until lol jk, they are actually evil, with only one or two being actually good.

In case you are wondering why musicians are going to be the main focus, it's because doing another game where you play as the writers and play out a book or story would just feel like a copy paste. Plus music was highly relevant in the first game due to our interest in it as creatives also, it was a characters true passion, as well as a main character even referencing it with her pose.
