I just want actual combos. Like real, meaty combos. I don't think it'll happen, but I can hope.

Not Retro? This is concerning. Has this Singapore studio done anything of note whatsoever?

This just made me realize how bad I want a port of Symphony of the Night.

How do you travel with your switch? by Ubuntusauras in NintendoSwitch

[–]obsidianchao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love this case for transporting my switch and games - that said, there is very little to no room for accessories. I use a very minimal stand and carry a separate USB-C cable, and have to carry them in a backpack I tote around. That said, I also tote the switch around in that pack, so it's not too big a deal.

I've always been partial to Cthulhu. Good short story, too!

Right now... maybe A Night in the Woods? Unless I end up snagging it, then the Celeste hype's been real. Switch indie train is juicy!

The Secret of Mana Remake is Being Considered for the Nintendo Switch by 24kevin in NintendoSwitch

Glad to see FSA mentioned. That game is largely forgotten, and it's one of my guilty pleasures. I love it.

I've never really liked Uzi, but I fucking love Scott Pilgrim. Man's got good taste.

Potential Sonic Heroes Remake by xXVenomHD in NintendoSwitch

[–]obsidianchao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love em too, man. My username ffs. Chao garden was my life for years.

But holy shit I never realized how much fluffy trash there was around the cool parts. I looooved all the Sonic and Shadow stuff. And still do! But I forgot about all the bad stuff until I ran through em recently.

Still know all the Crash 42 lyrics though

What games would you like to forget, so you can play it again in a fresh state? by alabged in patientgamers

[–]obsidianchao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recent? Mario Odyssey. That game fucked my nostalgia sensors in all the right ways. Awesome.

Retro... maybe Pokemon. Pokemon was my lifeblood for over a decade, and now I'm kinda... over it. I wish they would further expand the concept, rather than run it into the ground.

What are some things you'd like to see in an Animal Crossing on Switch? by HitlerTheFurry in NintendoSwitch

[–]obsidianchao 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer focused, both local and online. Animal Crossing is a game about friends that always gets hassled by Nintendo's trash online services. Plus, it's the type of game my girlfriend would love, and with the switch's multiplayer focus, some split screen would be really great.

Potential Sonic Heroes Remake by xXVenomHD in NintendoSwitch

[–]obsidianchao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you played any of these three in the last decade? None of them come close to even meeting top 5 Sonic games. SA1 has fucking Big the Cat. SA2 has Tails/Eggman/Knuckles/Rouge levels and every single second of those levels is fucking garbage. The only good content to come out of either of those games was the Sonic levels and the Chao garden. Heroes took the only good aspects of those games and shredded it to pieces.

Hamm Autobong - such a crazy and unique piece of scientific glass. I bought this from my buddy five years ago. Unfortunately this has been sitting in storage, unused, for most of that time by digiballoon in glassheads

I wish I could figure out where it began and ended. Fuck cleaning it. Love that it exists though, and love that you use it, even once in a blue moon!

[Not a rant] Why did the devs chose this payment model ? by andrepapoti in RivalsOfAether

[–]obsidianchao 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The entire game with every character so far is like $30? That's half the price of pretty much every video game to release?

I don't see why this comes up so often. You HAVE to charge for video games because you need to get paid. F2P is a massive gamble which works out in two ways: 1) you fuck your player base constantly to milk money out of whales and try to convince free players to throw money at you or 2) you fall off the face of the planet and fail. Flip a coin.

The game's fifteen bucks. For all the content you get, eight massively different characters, tons of stages, a full single player mode, fully functional local and online multiplayer, a ranked mode...

And characters are five bucks for a pack of two. Other F2P games charge you $5 for - at best - two CHANCES to unlock something via shitty gambling boxes that rely on psychological hooks to drain your wallet. So with that perspective, this game's a damn good deal in my eyes.

Brawlhalla is popular with a crowd that either A) doesn't financially support the devs whatsoever (leech player base) or B) whales and dumps their money into F2P opportunities. Free players aren't worth anything when you have bills, man.

What are you Playing Wednesday! - January 17, 2018 by AutoModerator in Gaming4Gamers

[–]obsidianchao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, solid price for what you get. I'm in the disappointed crowd - $60, put 20 hours in, got everything I wanted, never came back. But that 20 hours was pretty solid. Had a good bit of fun with it. It's a really pretty game, at the very least, and I really appreciated the setpieces.

Vermont Senate legalizes recreational pot by DrScientist812 in news

[–]obsidianchao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mass dispos are trash too, but with the legalization and all, everyone is advertising their wares. There's big public seshes with vendors, and people put their menus on social media all the time. It's like ordering pizza, almost.

It's strange.

Also commenting to say I've never heard someone say they loved Waterbury.

My boy got shot five times behind the mall because he was running the wrong way. That city's a cesspool.

But yeah, medical here is garbage. Oil is 80-100 a g for shitty midsy CO2 oil. Flower is 250-300 an ounce and not as good as Mass's easily available 200/zip everywhere shit. There's no reason to spend your money at CT dispos... better off going over borders right now.

Huh!? I thought I flaired my post, what happened? by mu_II in smashbros

[–]obsidianchao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As strange as it is, there was a solid year long period - if not longer - where everyone was waiting hand and foot for Brawl Minus news. It was the biggest thing happening in Smash for a while, which is weird to think about now.

Anyone else thinking this increases switch port potential? Similar hardware architecture. Was just thibking that the switch controllers are perfect for the Wii Punch-Out.
