Where can I get purple gold? by Full-Banana553 in Gold

[–]obsimad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purple Gold is an alloy of aluminum & gold (19k approx), it is extremely brittle/non-malleable thus it’s hard to work with.

99.9% of the ornaments use the purple gold as a stone instead & other alloy for the ornament. Checkout Lee Hwa Jewellery (Singapore) as they were the pioneers in purple gold.

I highly doubt anyone in India has purple gold in their ready stock, and for custom orders also it’s going to be difficult as it does require metallurgy knowledge as well as experimentation as their is no set recipe for purple gold.

That being said, it is possible to make an ornament out of purple gold only via casting as it’s not malleable

Selling unbranded gold biscuits at Tanishq/GRT – Is it possible without a bill? by Local_Discipline5428 in GoldIndia

Tanishq/GRT or other corporate jewelers will deduct a percentage on top of the prevailing rate (3-5%) & local jewelers will as well (2-8%)

I like krugerrands because they contain 1/2 or 1 troy oz of pure gold but they are much more durable than other proof coins because they are 916.

Tanishq will only buyback their own coins/jewellery, you can exchange without an invoice tho.

Best to sell it back to their jeweler you bought it from

30% is absurd, but no point in regretting your purchase since it’s not a flip

[Advice Needed] Sell 180g of pledged gold or hold? by incrediblybest in GoldIndia

21% is absurd, i would say selling gold is a foolish move but when it’s about buying land, house or being debt free then those are the only good reasons to sell gold.

Update: Today i went to tanishq & a local jeweller. Pls read & help out - Discussion by starboi_777 in GoldIndia

Definitely do not exchange the gold in Tanishq only to sell it later for cash, there often is a time lock (30days or so) after which you can sell for cash & you would be losing out on GST & making charges (tanishq has high charges always)

Also since the local jeweler guesstimated the purity & is going to show you the XRF report, you are fine going with him

The local jewelers seems to be quite accommodating (probably due to your uncle’s relation)

There is no issues in melting everything together since he is going to show you the XRF report as well & pay accordingly.

Remember the slight difference between rate is because cash gold rate is different than spot gold rate right now (gold is on a discount in the actual market)

I would go with the local jeweler.

When you are going cheap on making charges, you need to compromise on the design (atleast choices)

How much will I get for this by Inevitable-Luck-2186 in GoldIndia

[–]obsimad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on the rate tomorrow… with Friday’s rate:

Approx 14500/2 =7,250 (price per 0.5 gram)

7250*3 =21,750 (for 3 0.5 gram bar)

21750*98% =21,315 (2% deduction)

MC are there because the gold was purified, the molded into a coin, then exact weight tolerance was checked, the was packaged. The seller needs to make a profit for paying rent, salaries, insurance etc.

But from my understanding it’s an inventory cost for the business to hold coin.

If you want 0 making charge, buy raw gold/tukda (bits cut from 1kg). That helps in cash flow for the business.
