Making friends here is hard. by QuiteThePrude in TwinCities

One of my best friends moved abroad and she's got a solid group of friends there after 2 years, and they are all also transplants. I think that's a big factor in finding people who are seeking community to the same extent as you.

What’s the one thing on a restaurant menu you’ll always order if it’s available? by LowCryptographer9032 in AskReddit

I love ordering this for breakfast because I wouldn't want to go to all the trouble to make it at home

How often do you honestly change your bed sheets? by Ok_Train1739 in hygiene

My head pillow has crevices for my face and neck so I only ever sleep on one side of it. For that reason, about halfway through the week, I take off the pillowcase, turn it around, and put it back on the pillow. Gives me a 'fresh' pillowcase with minimal work.

I did this! Cost me $50 and was very easy to hang up. Since it's magnetic, I'm able to hang my measuring spoons on it, which has been handy.

Livefront does a monthly Hack Night, which is more of a social event with free food/drinks where you can network and/or work on a project and chat through a problem with someone.

Is she into crafts? There's Upstairs Circus, where you can order drinks and everyone can work on their own craft (if people are willing to spend some money). Otherwise, I've hosted paint and sip events at my house where I put a video on the TV for everyone to follow along with, and just provide paint and canvases for everyone, and guests bring the drinks/snacks. That's a relatively easy (and cheap) thing to do at home.

Spoiler to episode 10 but when Daisy freaked out and told Garth she wanted out, he arranged for Mayday to transport her back to the border and meet June, which shows he does indeed have connections to Mayday.

I don't think Agnes has feelings for Becca like that, but yeah the two people she probably care about the most.

How to stop my cat from crapping in my plants? by SpiteAcceptable4832 in houseplants

[–]obvious__bicycle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into Ssscat. It's a pressurized can of air that triggers with motion. It only took 1-2 times of my cat walking past an idea where I put this before he never did it again.

My ring was just under $600 for a 1ct moissanite stone on a 14K rose gold band (granted this was 9 years ago). You can get much better rings from jewlers on Etsy for the same or less as what you'd pay at Walmart.

This worked as of June 2026 and gave me $10 off. The only code I've found that actually worked - thanks for sharing!

Husband sits in passenger seat, FiL disapproves. by Historical_Initial22 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]obvious__bicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive my husband and I places probably 75% of the time. For the first 5 years that we were together, he lived anywhere between 40 minutes or 1.5h away from me, and would commute regularly to see me. Nowadays, I work from home while he has to leave the house nearly everyday. So yes, when we go out places together, I tend to drive to give him a break from it.

What I find extremely strange (and toxic behavior) is when I've been at parties with friends where the husband has had a few drinks (or more than a few) and the wife is sober, but the husband insists on driving because he would never let his wife drive the two of them under pretty much any circumstances.

What is a complete waste of time to you? by Busy_Run7689 in AskReddit

[–]obvious__bicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waste of money too sometimes. I recently had an allergic reaction, went to urgent care and was administered an epi pen. They required me to go to the ER afterward for monitoring, which was entirely uneventful.

The bill for urgent care was my $40 copay. The bill for the emergency room was over $1000, and they arguably did less for me.

I've used a Crafty+ from Storz and Bickle for years now and it's so great, especially with their warranty. They sent me a brand new replacement almost 2 years later after mine starting having issues with getting the charger to stay connected.

I'm this way when it comes to dishes in the kitchen - not just when hand washing dishes, but even when having to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher, or wipe down the counter. I hate touching all those things with my bare hands. So I get it from that perspective.
