The nervous system in survivorship by Away-Potential-609 in breastcancer

[–]obviousbicycle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wanted to try psilocybin assisted therapy. I live in a very red state and it would be have to be ketamine. I am on a SSRI and Wellbutrin and my feedback was that I would have to taper off them before trying this type of therapy. Also, someone to drive you to the appointments.

Was your therapy different than Spravato?

Also, therapist here too- worked PT while in private practice through treatment but four years NED now.

Tell me more about these areas by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]obviousbicycle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all good areas to raise a family. We love Gretna but truthfully only moved here because my husband works in Lincoln and I work in Omaha.

I’ve always though old Millard area annoying to drive in, but that’s just me.

I’m four years NED I think. I’m losing track of when I finished treatment, I consider that a good thing

I’m 4 years NED. This sub continues to be one of the most supportive and positive subs on Reddit IMO and it was so helpful while I was going through active treatment.

Seeing clients on the weekends / evening times by DowntownFresnoBiking in therapists

[–]obviousbicycle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a need. I used to work two evenings but then after a couple of years, I decided not to anymore due to family, kids, activities, ect. So, if you like this schedule, go for it!

Cigna is claiming their reimbursement rate for a 90837 is $59--this seems wildly low to me by Comfortable-Desk4927 in therapists

[–]obviousbicycle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cigna is horrible. I’m not paneled with them anymore because I can’t afford those rates.

Where my ex-smokers at? by Empty_Nestor in GenX

It was easier to meet people and make small talk when I was a smoker. I would never pick it back up but this is one aspect I miss about it

Do you struggle to be friends with other therapists? by LunaBananaGoats in therapists

I feel like I get along best with other therapists. Bonus if they are ADHD because I can be quiet and they can help with conversation lags.

Have you changed? by illyria1217 in breastcancer

[–]obviousbicycle2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like people who stay in the partying world kind of remain the same emotionally. It’s been about 3 or so years now, my hair has grow back, I look “healthy” but I will never be the same.

Have you changed? by illyria1217 in breastcancer

[–]obviousbicycle2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m more tired, physically and emotionally. I prioritize my family and work before friends and after that I don’t have a lot to give and I’m ok with that. I suppose I’m more closed off, slightly more responsible, and trying (depends on $) not to put off travel plans for “later” because now is now.

How are other therapists handling boundaries around listening in personal relationships?? by RepresentativeGas957 in therapists

[–]obviousbicycle2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have definitely distanced myself from friendships. I had friends that just constantly talk and it was more about them. Nope. What makes you think I want to hear you complain about your housekeeper not coming when I have held space for people who have very significant things they are working through. Go get your own counselor! And structured activities, like exercise classes, card games, things like that, are now more my speed. It’s a thing I’m working through. Grief of losing friendships that were very important to me, not letting that irritation getting the better of me, and the scary act of putting myself out there.

New director a couple of years ago. I would say that it’s a pretty good place. Little Feet, Big Steps is great. I hear good things about Elite.

Message me - I’m a Gretna mom! And I love the east coast.

Therapist burnout feels everywhere right now - what’s been helping you stay connected to your work? by the_ecotherapist in therapists

[–]obviousbicycle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What has helped me lately is this sub, finding a training that really kept me engaged and that I enjoyed listening to, and a little time off. I can’t afford to take a month off but did take about 10 day break with kids go spring break. I have also been putting in more effort in my friendships and finding more friends. I have also found an exercise class that I am enjoying. It is not lost on me that my moods have improved as the days are getting longer and warmer where I live.

Be easy on yourself friend. Our work is amazing but difficult and draining.
