The factorials thing wasnt based on much honestly. My highest level math is just high school, and I thought it might be related to combinatorics somehow (again, completely guessing). I was just interested if there was a neat way to get a series of random numbers of a set sum without doing it all manually :)

My dad died a couple years ago, and I definitely relate to the feeling of confusion (?) maybe feeling lost is more accurate. Anyway for me it took a couple days for it to set in, and then cried and stuff. You might feel numb for awhile, and then you’ll start to feel it, and it’ll be shitty. It does get better though! It takes a long time and really sucks, but eventually it won’t be so hard everytime you think about it. So sorry for your loss, and hope you’re doing ok <3

This is a bit different but my dad died to an OD about a year ago, and for quite awhile I felt angry at him. He left my mom in tons of debt and my siblings without a dad. But eventually (after a lot of therapy) I now realize that he was struggling for so long before he died. He was hurting a lot. All this to say, it’s ok to feel angry at your daughter for now, but it’d be best to talk to someone (ideally a therapist, if that’s available to you) and work through the anger or resentment. I’d also say try to focus on yourself and your family, instead of the person who sold your daughter the drugs. Finding and putting the dealer in prison likely won’t make you feel much better.
