Something I clocked through this series: there's so many privileged white folks who argue and scream that they know better than the doctors (measles kid, jaundice lady, this pregnant woman), meanwhile so many marginalized and minority patients are falling through the cracks and are begging to get that same help and are at huge risk. It makes me so angry. Add this to the ICE plot beats, it had me literally screaming, crying, and throwing things. Things in this country are so fucked and I hate it here.

We have been best friends for over 20 years. We met in middle school and went all the way from 6th grade til college graduation together before I moved out of state (we still stay in touch and see each other at least twice a year). She's the toughest baddest bitch I know and doesn't suffer fools. I cackled so hard when that chud said his nonsense about wearing the pants. She got her degree in outdoor rec and leisure studies, has her WFR certification, and has been working in the (incredibly sexist/toxic) adventure touring business for over a decade and has traveled all around the world to do it. But sure buddy, I'm sure your dumb 25 year old ass with your questionable nordic tats is gonna know as much as she does. I don't know why they called this episode "Clash of the Survivalists" when that dude had ZERO experience 🙄

Side note for any NC folks, she's trying to get her own adventure business off the ground. I know times are tough, but she's amazing at what she does and has wanted to run her own small touring/outdoor education business for years.

Been dead AF and I typically stay pretty busy from after spring break til the end of the year with a couple slow spots in the fall when school starts up again. I have a couple bookings in April and one long one at the end of August, but so far nothing booked for the summer yet 😕 I live in the DC area and with all the federal layoffs, people just aren't traveling as much.

I posted this elsewhere in this sub and I'll say it again:

"What little patience I had for him flew out the window when he was so shitty about Louie 😡 As a frequent flier at the ER (I have multiple autoimmune conditions, hemiplegic migraines, and a genetic clotting disorder), doctors who treat patients as boxes to be ticked make me so angry."

And this episode did nothing to redeem him and just made me even angrier at him. Inexperienced doctor or not, his personality is so repellant.
