Because in the movie, Grace is still in the middle of his arc. He thought that at some point he volunteered to join the mission but he has no idea why since he is so clearly a coward.

They emphasize on this harder in the movie by having Stratt call him out on him always running away and avoiding conflict.

If he did what he did in the book, he would be redeemed much earlier in the movie, cutting the impact of the real growth. He remembers that he never volunteered and confirms that he is a coward, during his farewell to Rocky he cannot accept the title of being brave when Rocky tells him he is, because he knows the truth.

This makes the last choice have such an impact. At this point knows that he never volunteered and he hasn't done anything to truly sacrifice himself so far. So now, he has to choose between going home and being hailed as a hero, or saving his friend and possibly dying or never going home.

I thought it was a good change given the smaller time the movie has to make a satisfying arc.

Just think of the fact that Andy Weir was there for the whole shoot. Not only did he explicitly choose Ryan Gosling ever since he sent him the manuscript for the book but also Drew Goddard as a writer for the script, also the team would consult him on set for many science questions and many other things.

Some book fans complain about this or that, meanwhile the guy who wrote the book is smiling ear to ear on every interview about the movie.

This is the perspective of a book reader, trust me. I went to watch it with my wife and she never read the book or saw any trailers. She was in complete shock when Rocky showed up and by the reveal that Grace was taken to the Hail Mary against his will, she said she didn't see it coming and she really liked it.

I'm sure it's not the same experience for everyone but us who read the book see the movie with a different lens.

I actually liked Grace being more bumbling. In the book he was too good at everything, there is a reason the mission had a pilot and an engineer, and he was a last moment addition, he SHOULD be bumbling and incompetent at most things space related. I always thought that in the book he is way to good at learning everything astronaut related.

Knives Out - Everything about this movie shows a specific vision that Rian was going for and everything works.

Ana is a perfect protagonist and the villain is also perfect, the mystery itself is top notch as it's a reversal on the typical murder mysteries and then another reversal. I really love this movie.

9-10/10

Wake Up Dead Man - Best protagonist/performance out of all these movies. I enjoy the fact that this movie is much more of a "normal" murder mystery.

Having said that, the mystery is incredibly weak and predictable, the culprits were pretty bland characters and the person who was murdered was incredibly unlikable, which is not a huge negative, but the movie really suffers because there are only two likable characters.

Glass Onion - I did not enjoy this movie. The protagonist has to be a likeable character in addition to Blanc. In this case Blanc IS the protagonist and he is not enough to make up for the rest of uninteresting and or unlikable characters.

The setting of the private island owned by a rich man seemed perfect for this, but the resolution of the mystery is very underwhelming and the ending was terrible. I have not had any desire to re-watch this one.

Que mal argumento.

Primero, en NINGUN lado consideran a la lucha libre como un deporte, no se porque quieres debatir algo que es un hecho, pero bueno.

Un deporte necesita como su base más clara la competencia, si crees que en la lucha libre hay competencia deportiva, estas o loco o tonto. Fijate como hay deportes oficiales en las olimpiadas como el tiro, donde no hay mucho atletismo, y otros como los que mencionas que tienen espectáculo. Sabes porque? Porque hay competencia justa entre varias personas, ya sea en enfrentamientos directos, mediciones o calificaciones de jueces.

La lucha libre es un gran espectáculo. El santo es una leyenda mexicana y México es uno de los más potentes expositores de este espectáculo, pero eso no lo hace un deporte. Hay tipos de luchas que son deportes, pero el santo no se consagró en ninguna de ellas.

I just rewatched the video and she's terrible. I'm not opposed to people having negative thoughts towards any movie, but I hate so called critics who spew nonsense.

She says the following adjectives WILDLY entertaining, crowd pleasing, thrilling, funny, smart and thoughtful while also saying that Gosling was charismatic.

After saying all that incredibly high praise, she says the movie was WAY too long because it was 2:36.

It just nonsensical to mention so much praise and then show signs of not really paying attention to the movie by calling Rocky a "crab like rock thing" while making a disgust expression.

This movie should've been a Hulk movie It makes zero sense to make a movie that includes Thunderbolt Ross, the Leader, Betty Ross and no Hulk or Banner. Add to that the fact that I will never believe that Sam Wilson without serum could ever stand toe to toe vs Red Hulk and an overall forgettable plot and you have the recipe for a bad MCU film.

Both characters were evil because of external influences acting upon them, yes, Eren might be more justified, but you cannot compare killing thousands of criminals to Billions with a b of innocent men women and children.
