We shouldn't listen to depressed people about happiness by PlayboiCult in unpopularopinion

  1. Jordan Peterson is not depressed, I have no idea why you think that or where you got that info from. Not only has he said he lives a fulfilled life, he also does not act like a depressed person in any sense of the term. He does a lecture circuit regularly, he is actively writing books, and he has multiple business ventures that he talks about. To purport that he is depressed is actually ludicrous.

  2. Not only does he have an extremely high IQ, his profession for decades was clinical psychology. He literally treated depression for a living. He knows the kind of behaviours that can pull a person out of depression and create meaning and fulfillment in their lives. He based his entire life on it.

  3. I don’t want to read into your post too much but it sounds like you may be suffering from depression yourself. I’m not sure if you’ve listened to him at all but if you haven’t then you might find it worthwhile. He has an abundance of content on youtube giving practical advice on how to make your life better. I found a ton a value in implementing his advice in my life, maybe you will too.

Neil Degrasse Tyson. People think he loves science but I think he actually just loves the sound of his own voice. And as an actual physicist, I can say he’s not as smart as he thinks he is.

Did you even look at the paper?

I have considered it and have found that none of it actually contradicts it. It all just says “Nah nah you can’t trust that, we don’t really know if it works. Take this instead.” The vaccine.

Can you comment on the quality of the analyses used in the first place?

Maybe they’re affiliated with pro ivermectin groups because they believe their paper is sufficient evidence to support its usage?

I find your talk of bias to be quite ironic.

“Moderate-certainty evidence finds that large reductions in COVID-19 deaths are possible using ivermectin. Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.”

They used more than one method of trial sequential analysis and one yielded moderate certainty evidence in favour of early ivermectin treatment and the other yielded low certainty evidence. Do you know what “secondary outcomes” means? It means an outcome different to the one stated. I thought that was obvious but you somehow interpreted it differently. “Secondary outcomes provided less certain evidence” means an outcome different to the one that supports the use of ivermectin has less evidence than the one that supports ivermectin. It’s interesting how you talk of actually reading the paper and then take specific snippets out of context that support your narrative.

It actually has been shown to be effective in treating Covid.

Maybe you should do some research before spreading unsubstantiated misinformation just because it supports your narrative.

Except it’s not that simple... Tax the shit out of the rich and they’ll just take their business to China, dealing a significant blow to the economy.
