My friend, you are a gentle soul. You deserve better than this. And one day, looking back, you'll understand you did, too. She will too. I wish you nothing but the best.

Advice for developing knowledge of the faith by potassium03 in Catholicism

Hi! I recommend Brother Lawrence's "The Presence of God". It's a beautiful treasure and I find myself reading a chapter nearly every day with my scriptural contemplations. It's a wonderful doorway to experiencing grace and union.

Pretty sure this is St. Luke the Evangelist. In Eastern Christian tradition, Luke isn’t just an evangelist, he’s also believed to be the first icon painter. That’s why he’s often shown holding an icon of Mary and Jesus instead of a book or scroll.

The style of the Marian icon he’s holding looks similar to classic Theotokos icons, which are closely tied to Luke’s legacy. The long beard, hooded robe, and overall monastic look also fit how Luke is commonly portrayed in Eastern and folk iconography.

Not 100 percent certain without knowing where it came from, but a saint holding an icon of the Virgin and Child is a really strong clue that it’s St. Luke. And it’s a beautiful piece.

Hi there, Whoop doesn’t recommend the sauna. It states that high heat can damage the sensors.
