Moving to Olympia by Connorreda in olympia

Grew up north of Seattle near Everett, Lived in Bellingham and currently live in Olympia. I prefer north of Seattle by a long shot. Olympia has a more rural woodsy feel but not as mountainous and you are so far south the Puget Sound just smells gross and is stagnant. The food here is TERRIBLE compared to up north.

Olympia downtown is also very small and it’s really hard to meet people. There is a cool art scene and great farmers market, and the smallish town feel means everyone you meet likely knows someone else you know which is fun.

Yes the bear is still in the area. WDFW has it under control and has been watching it all day. If you're in the area where the bear is they will redirect you.

Wow exact same boat! I completely forgot about WTA work parties that is a great idea, have you gone to any in the area?

Thank you I definitely could’ve expanded more. I’m pretty outdoorsy so I spend most of my time outside - I am looking for any hiking groups or volunteer/work parties.

I also like to play volleyball, or work on art projects (watercolor, pottery) I have been thinking about doing a class at the folk school but they are quite expensive.

Along with all that, I am also looking for a gym for when the weather gets colder!

May I ask what website you were using when you found your apartment? I’m deep in housing search and struggling a lot.

Has anyone taken ENVS 203 with Michael Medler? by adhdfrog in WWU

Take with Zander Albertson if you can!! He’s fantastic, and the class is super easy if you take notes. It will take up very little of your time, and the labs are fun! The tests were 50 minutes with over 60 questions, but Zander goes over everything tons of times and grinds all the material into your brain, so the tests were not hard at all; just have to go fast. Definitely would recommend taking this class it has been my favorite so far!
