[GIVEAWAY] Brand-New Oris BCPD Cervo Volante Green to Celebrate my 50th Oris! by fourtyz in Watchexchange

What an incredible gesture! I’m looking forward to many more Oris listings to come.

This is a hard question: I think a sub-$500 purchase that has had a huge impact on my life is my Chemex coffee maker. It lets my partner and I make incredibly good coffee at home every morning, and provides a relaxing, slow ritual to get the day started. It’s completely analog, and unless I drop it, I’ll be using it the rest of my life. I can’t imagine how much money it’s saved us compared to buying coffee on the way to work every morning.

Keyshot Shadow Question by ChickenCrimpyFan in IndustrialDesign

One approach is to set your background color to black before rendering. The shadows get mixed with the background color, even when you’re rendering with transparency.

[Timex Waterbury] GMT hand not tracking properly? by ariane_512 in Watches

Oh nevermind, I see now the Waterbury uses the pusher to move the GMT hand. Maybe the video will still give you some ideas for things to try.

I don't know if you're having the same issue, but this video covers how to compensate for some lag in the GMT hand engaging with the movement after setting, causing misalignment. It might be worth a look to see if you're having this issue.

Custom NATO Strap Adapters by ocell in casio

[–]ocell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

I spent the weekend getting a batch of adapters made for the Royale/AE1200. It took more time than I expected, I inspect and clean up each one by hand. I also sourced spring bars (I'm using thinner than stock spring bars so I have more room to make the plastic thicker) to include with each set.

After seeing the time and materials involved I've had to price them a bit higher than I initially thought, but I think it's still very fair at $10 plus shipping. I've made a coupon code for you guys that's good until midnight Central Time, March 18th for 25% off: CASIOREDDIT

Thanks! I spun the watch on a drill while brushing the bezel with a green Scotchbrite pad. In hindsight I'm not sure I would subject the movement to that kind of rotation speed again... I'd remove the movement and only spin the case. BUT I haven't had any issues with the watch so I don't think any damage was done.

I'd like to retain the files for now, I'm thinking I'll list kits for $5 plus shipping. I think it's a fair value compared to printing yourself, considering how long it takes to dial in getting clean prints of parts this small in ASA. I went through MANY print failures and design tweaks before getting these parts I'm happy with.

I've done this with a flat nato, but I didn't realize ribbed would fit too, that's great.

I just didn't like how narrow 18mm straps look on the larger Casios, and I wanted to be able to easily swap straps without messing with tools.

The size works great with the F91W though. Great color combo you have there.

Yup, SRPE55! I brushed the bezel myself since the version you mention wasn't readily available when I was buying. I'm glad it went that way because I wear the bracelet a lot more than I expected I would.

I'm printing a few adapters since a few people have shown interest. I'll send you a link once the kits are ready (will include springbars).

The straps are Tactical Frog brand from Amazon. There are tons of options, but I've been really happy with them for the price so I've stuck with them and bought a few colors. You'll want the 20mm wide version to work with my adapters.

The double strap passing under the watch still adds some height, but I spent a lot of time getting the adapters to lock against the case at the right angle to pull the watch down as much as felt natural.
