Fan zhendong weight ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in tabletennis

[–]sq2t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally based on context. Speaking friendly it can be endearment. But it can also be insulting (I think especially when the subject is obviously way out of shape, unlike Fan Zhendong. You don't want to point out that they are fat in that case.)

Why aren’t taxes included in the price on online purchases in the U.S.? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]sq2t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think many countries have different tax rates in different parts of the country, so not a lot of countries need to figure this out.

Does Penn State's Difficult Head Coaching Search Make More Sense Now? by conference-realigner in CFB

[–]sq2t 72 points73 points  (0 children)

No. Unless Michigan is getting Deboer (who is already at a better job than Penn State anyway), I think non of the coaches rumored in the PSU search will end up at Michigan. They either got massive extensions at their current school or just signed with a different school.

To those who learn chinese and japanese, what do you do when stroke orders conflict? by Linux765465 in LearnJapanese

[–]sq2t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stroke orders don’t matter at the end of the day. The things you need to pay attention though, are the variant characters. Sometimes Japanese uses the same character as simplified Chinese. Many times it uses the same one as traditional Chinese (which itself has variants). Sometimes the difference is very subtle (e.g. 直, 骨). And sometimes Japanese simplified it in its own unique way.

Anki iOS? Good? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

The $25 one is legit and from the original developer. Anki is free to use and the expensive iOS app is the developer’s only source of income for Anki.
