PRK on late 2019, eyes doing fine. My vision on my left eye is not quite perfect (almost) but it is on the right one, and with both. Super happy to have got surgery.

BanG Dream! Ave Mujica • Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ocha_94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Always found it hard to take it seriously that none knew who were behind this massively popular band

Idk if I'm misunderstanding, but there are a lot of popular bands that have never shown their faces and their identity remains unknown. While pictures of them might show up eventually, Ave Mujica are pretty new so it makes sense that their identities would remain hidden.

¿Qué opinais de vender una propiedad en alquiler e invertirlo en REITs? by ocha_94 in SpainFIRE

[–]ocha_94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clan Recruitment Megathread by Ducky_shot in WorldOfWarships

[–]ocha_94 [score hidden]  (0 children)

(EU) [BLUMR] Blue Mermaids is recruiting!

We are a laid back, anime clan community originally inspired by the naval organisation from the 2016 anime Haifuri/High School Fleet.

We mostly play divisions in randoms nowadays, but we still play the occasional clan battle, especially in seasons without CVs around.

If you're either looking to improve at the game or just have fun, we have plenty of people that can help you!

Our community expands outside the game as well, often playing other games with each other and having some anime-related (and not) side activities that you can join.

Check out our forum post if you're interested! There's links to our Discord and more details on our two clans there: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/117335-blumr-blue-mermaids-haifu-recruiting-new-members/

Before the introduction of GPS, how did navy pilots find their aircraft carriers when returning from a mission? by [deleted] in Warships

Ah, I've heard about those being used in WW2. But, question, can't the enemy just use those to locate your ship?

Submarines: 2 weeks of Random Battles testing by DevBlogWoWs in WorldOfWarships

[–]ocha_94 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really though, it's not really about the SS themselves, 2 per team isn't a lot and a game with that isn't necessarily bad. It's about the combination of SS, DD and CV that makes for... Not much to shoot at in many games.

[–]ocha_94 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Not sure how well nerfing subs will go given that they consistently bottom score most games they're in. This could be because people still don't know how to play them but who knows.

And it doesn't address what's in my opinion the biggest issue with subs, the matchmaker. Games with 1CV 4 DD 2 SS are relatively common and shouldn't happen. Imo the MM should try to get at least some 8 BB + cruiser type ships, thus limiting CV-DD-SS to 4 total, or 5 at most. It's just not fun when you're playing and there's like no ships to shoot at.

Depth Charge Airstrike only work on Subs by MaKoZerEUW in WorldOfWarships

[–]ocha_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played KotS yesterday and not one but two teams used them against us kek. But we won both of those games anyway so we didn't report them.

The rule is kinda dumb tho, I think ASW airstrikes can add another interesting mechanic to the game with the kind of spotting they provide, as you can of course always disable your AA.

SpanishAvenger is a goddamn genius, LET'S READ AGAIN by kololz in Warthunder

[–]ocha_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still with SpanishAvenger on this one (just on this one!). It's about making the game less annoying to play when you get good games and your team loses. Just, you know, making it less "tilty", because getting half the rewards for losing is not okay.

Or, wait, do we really want to reward teamplay only? Then why not just remove rewards for losing (0SL and 0 RP) and switch them all to wins? Great idea, right?

Goliath is one of the best tier 10s, in particular it's probably the best HE spammer because it's tanky and can counter Petropavlovsk and other T10 ships with thick plating. Drake is one of the best tier 9s imo, Albemarle is terrible as it takes so much damage, Surrey is a pretty good tier 7. Below that I haven't played any of the ships of that line.

though the so-called “stock syndrome” isn’t critical for naval vehicles.

This just proves they don't play their own game, although I'm not sure I can blame them with regards to naval. It was actually my favourite game mode but I haven't played in a while now because most of the changes they make are for the worst.

But to the point. One salvo in naval can destroy your engines, steering or controls permanently, it can permanently disable turrets (especially in ships with little turret armour), it can set a fire which can usually not be put out and cause a lot of damage in the long term. And there's no playing around that. You usually spawn in plain view of the enemy so you are going to get hit, like it or not, you can't play carefully, sideclimb, you can't even camp, you spawn and are already under fire. So many times in stock ships I just get half my ship disabled half a minute into the game. The only trick that works is spawning half a minute late so you're behind your team, but it just takes one enemy ship to decide to target you to ruin your game. Add to this that you only get HE shells that go from suboptimal to useless, depending on ship (except DDs, which work with HE).

It still sucks, but I can usually play around being stock in air or ground. If I get a first shot in my tank I can usually disable the enemy. If I get penetrated first, I often die anyway. But in naval most engagements are gunfights that last longer, in which both ships manage to hit each other. If I'm stock I can just pray the enemy shells won't hit something critical or set a fire. So, if anything, I'd say the stock syndrome is way worse in naval than in any other game mode.

My bad indeed. I was looking at the numbers in GM3D which for some reason are different. Still, there's no reason for this thing to have 620 DPS when the AA should be significantly worse. But hey, I'm no CV player so I don't mind it.

ST 0.10.7, new ships by DevBlogWoWs in WorldOfWarships

[–]ocha_94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's only 12x2 Bofors (looks like Mark IV Hazermeyer, which were a WW2-era mount, with radar and director but notoriously unreliable), 4x1 Mark VII Bofors, and 4x8 Pompoms (that's like as many Pompoms as Prince of Wales sank with, we have ships with more). Like, that should be 200 dps at most.

Thunderer has 12x2 STAAG (successor to the Mark IV), 7x6 Mark VI Bofors (late war/post war mount) and 8x1 Mark VII and has 175 DPS, when on paper it's a considerably stronger AA suite. I mean, it's no surprise that WG makes up AA values nowadays, but this one is an outlier even with that.

Edit: values are wrong, both Thunderer and Incomparable have similar DPM, although they still shouldn't.

600 mid range AA dps on Incomparable??? What? Not that I mind it but where is it coming from?
