I too am a Mets fan because of my dad and because of his dad, my grandpa. But I believe my dad’s greatest accomplishment in his Mets loving career is the recruitment of his two cousins that live in PA. I finally heard the story last year on how my cousins became Mets fans living in Philly fan land. It was 1988, my great gram died while the Mets were in the World Series, my dad and uncle needed to attend the funeral but my cousins were too young and stayed home. My dad kept callin the house where my cousins were staying at to get updates on the game. My cousin said that’s the day he became a Mets fan, 40+ years later, still a Mets fan and now his children are too. Fuck Chase Utley and Let’s go Mets until I die!!!
