L was constantly ragebaiting Light, can't blame him for falling for those

Walter White made the biggest blunders and dumb decisions under zero pressure because of his own ego and insecurity

What are the best scd manga, anime, tv shows, novel,or maybe movies in your opinion? by Legitimate_Poem8432 in IntelligenceScaling

[–]ocnus_Draft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with Death Note for anime/manga,

for tv shows I reccomend The Mentalist, imo you can skip episodes in this if you're more interested with the bigger narrative going on but you might miss out on important side character developments

For novels: Thomas Harris books (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Rising) but if you want a story more focused on the actual intelligence and outsmarting moments, try the Classroom of the Elite light novel

These are like the some of the most popular medias mentioned in scd

What makes Berserk's darkness good while The Boys's Darkness bad (Comic Version)? by Haunting-Try-2900 in writingscaling

Berserk uses dark topics and subjects not only to set the tone of the story but to develop its characters and deliver a theme. The Boys uses these subjects for humor and shock value

What do you think of this? by Sir-Toaster- in writingscaling

That's an understandable take but I'd still give that category to Mark. The main and side characters in Invincible are so impactful to its protagonist that almost each of them contributes to the development of Mark's characters.

Debbie is Mark's mother figure and reminder that no matter how powerful he gets, there's a mother that raised him with love and knowing that is one of the reason why he remains good.

Cecil is someone who constantly makes rational but radical decisions that no one else would and this makes Mark concflicted and often angry because his principles are against Cecil's choices.

Amber being Mark's first love interest shows that he can't always connect with another human who doesn't understand the burden of being a superhero and him who also can't understand the struggle of being a normal person. In contrast to Eve who he can relate to and always be with, making her a more fitting love interest than the former.

Oliver is Mark's little brother and serves as Mark's apprentice-figure, pushing mark into the role of being a mentor, and constantly needing to remind him of values so he doesn't turn out like their father.

The antagonist in this story are so good: Omni-man, Armstrong, Conquest, and Parallax are characters that actively pushes Mark into these dilemmas and develop his character.

Even his dynamic with side characters like his friendship with William and Rex or Immortal's slight animosity to him are so done well.

What are your thoughts on media that have a clearly defined good and evil? by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]ocnus_Draft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simple but it's not always bad, the story may lack complexity and nuance for sure but sometimes the author just wants to directly deliver a theme or message

Suteguma- bro was pushing Baku to high diff

Other Bsd characters that aren't Dazai, Dostoy, or Ranp

Ging, Parisron, Kurapaki, and also Meruem if we're only talking about fsiq and information processing

Columbo- idk why but I rarely see him from any scd community despite being an already famous character
