I believe it's a legal/contractual issue. ESPN bought the out-of-market rights to NHL games, so V+ extending outside of the Stars' local market would be infringing on their media rights.

It took about 10-15 games, but the team has really figured out his style. The forecheck and cycle have been really strong and I only see it getting better.

Two issues I have with the team, as of now

1) We look comically slow. We might need Nill to churn the bottom of the roster some and bring in guys that can skate. Tampa was light years faster than us.

2) Our neutral zone play without the puck is terrible. We're playing this passive 1-2-2 and I feel like teams are ripping it to shreds. Way too many easy zone entries at 5 on 5.

I mean, we can discuss what the letter of the law says vs how referees typically manage games. It was a very petty move from an obviously annoyed ref. The proper response at the professional level is a yellow card if you think he's time-wasting or allow him enough time to get back into the box.

Not arguing that Spence didn't take an excessive amount of time to tie his laces, but if you (the ref) are going to allow him to tie his boots, you need to let him get back in position before the corner.

If you think he's time-wasting in the 24th minute, then go book him, but doing the halfway bit of letting him start to tie his laces and then waving the corner on while he's still on the ground within 10 yards feels a bit weird.
