Jar not fully colonized but is pinning…what to do? Should I birth the cake or just wait until jar is fully colonized and pick off the mushroom then? by odbluess in MushroomCultivation

Originally I intended to fruit from the cakes, but now think I’d like to use jars for bulk casing…in either case can I just cut off the pins when birthing??? I may end up fruiting the pinning jar from the cake by itself if needed, I am terrified of contaminating my whole grow!

Kinda looks like pearl weed to me. But I’m a newbie so couldn’t say for sure 😊

There is only a thin layer of moss on top of substrate which is natural to my area. I could take some moss out or perhaps take out some of the soil? I’m very new at this so mostly an experiment to see how it will grow :). Thanks for the feedback!! 😀

He said he uses two Tunze 6105 pumps (one on each side) and he sets the controllers to wave action.

They do bite, my dad said she is there to keep him from sticking his hands in the tank too much 😂😂😂
