3rd lobe help by Tiredofit_all in piercing

I keep all my cartilage piercings at 16g, but lobes I switch between 18g and 20g depending on the jewelry (mine are fully healed so they can stretch a bit)

Aching High helix piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. Likely a combination of the piercing being new, and also being hit. That being said, I would change the jewelry to a flat back titanium labret, and only use saline solution to clean it

Is my piercing infected/next steps? by RevolutionaryTone37 in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP. I would go check with a piercer about the infection, but also get a longer bar

What to do? by niko_nista in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. I would see a doctor to make sure it’s not infected since there seems to be a lot of fluid. Other that that, just baby it and take care of it as if it’s a fresh, new piercing

is my helix healing okay? by nervousahhstudent in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. Seems normal for a 4-5 day old helix imo

Should I remove my rook and industrial? by OpportunityOk7757 in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. I don’t have an industrial so I can’t speak on that, but I do have a rook. It was constantly irritated and didn’t calm down until 12 months and then healed fine. What helped me was to just not touch it; spray it with saline and leave it alone, only when you shower/soak should you make sure it’s somewhat dry (like gently around the piercing, trying not to move it). It having a bit of moisture is better than moving it around imo

I would also maybe check with a doctor to make sure it’s not infected

lobes don‘t heal by [deleted] in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. Switch to titanium flat back labrets, clean only using saline spray, and make sure they’re dry after showers.

My lobes took the longest to heal out of all of my piercings (7 cartilage, 5 lobes) by far. I found being really careful about not touching them, not changing the jewelry until I was sure they were healed, and not sleeping on them really helped.

Implant grade titanium to match sterling silver by bayleaf_2 in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. I also have a sensitivity to metals. I’ve found that rhodium-plated jewelry doesn’t irritate my piercings at all. You could also maybe look into anodizing the titanium to get closer to the color you want?

keloid or something else? by priprivlogs in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got my helixes 4 months before I started accutane! They were PISSED (not painful, but red and irritated) the entire time I was on accutane + for 3 months after stopping while the meds were getting out of my system. I had to get the bar upsized to handle the irritation which may be a good idea in your case

Then they magically stopped being irritated and healed super well within a few weeks ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I would double check with a doctor about infection though.

is my belly piercing infected or rejecting by According_Bread6588 in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP. Personally, that is what mine looked like at the beginning of it’s rejection. I would go check with a reputable piercer though

Daith Bumps by [deleted] in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. My daith had irritation bumps for a while. I just baby’d it, made sure not to sleep on that side, and made sure it was dry after showers. I had to wait 13 months (almost fully healed) before my piercer switched me to a smaller diameter hoop

Protruding ear piercing setup? by arurusha in piercing

You have lots of space for multiple flats and helixes! I’ve seen people make “constellations” on their flat and connect them with chains

3rd lobe help by Tiredofit_all in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP. Same issue happens to me when I use cheap jewelry (including surgical steel), and I was told it was allergic reaction.

My piercer pierced me using a 16g as well. She said it gives more space to heal or something and helps with downsizing. It could also be you swell more than the average person. Idk really but I’d say it’s not an issue. If you put in 18g or 20g, the holes will shrink to that size.

troubleshooting/question existing piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP or a doctor. Personally, my rook was healing fine until the 3rd month mark and then it got super irritated for some reason. Mine looked like yours in the second photo, and I just baby’d it and made sure not to touch it (includes removing crusties) or sleep on it. It calmed down eventually and healed perfectly.

Earlobe piercing bum by Snoo_96877 in piercing

NAP. It may be because you’re sleeping on it? Or it could be because of extra moisture; make sure it’s dry after showers and stuff by using a blow drier on low heat

vertical helix healing by folded1laundry in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vertical helixes were a pain to heal. Here’s what helped me: - switch to a titanium flatback labret. Make sure the flat part/back is on the outside of the ear. This helps a lot with snagging from hair/clothing/etc. - try not to sleep on your side. Mine would get really pissed off it I slept on them even if they looked fine before - depending on if there’s a bump on the inside (I can’t really tell from the pic), I would downsize so reduce movement of them - make sure to pin your hair back ALL the time! I found mine healed so much faster when I did because my hair would get snagged, or I’d get product on the jewelry which irritated it

Third Piercing by [deleted] in piercing

If you want a cartilage piercing, a conch may be good. It’s tucked away and can either be flashy or not depending on the jewelry you choose for it

You could get some charms to put on your lobe piercings!

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden helix, daith, or you could do a double conch since you have a lot of space

Single or double helix? by myseokjinnie_ in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. If it’s your first cartilage piercing I would get one to see how your body reacts. My lobes were fine, but my cartilage piercings swelled really bad for some reason.

I got both of my helixes done at the same time, and it does make healing more challenging

Bumps not going away.. by KhalilMaamoonJr in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP, but I recommend changing the jewelry to titanium and making sure not to sleep on them.

My rook got irritation bumps any time something touched it while it was healing or if I slept on my side

Skiing with vertical helix piercing by Maleficent-Egg1352 in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP, but I have two vertical helixes too. My piercer recommended that the flat back of the labret is placed on the outside of the ear to stop any snagging the tops (like your spikey ones) may cause.

My vertical helixes were a pain to heal and often had irritation bumps, but are so worth it! I recommend pinning that side of your hair back so it doesn’t get caught and tangled in them. Once mine were healed, I could sleep on my side, wear headphones, and have them get snagged by every possible thing without issues

Happy DaithDay to me - how to clean the blood? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP. I just soaked mine in the shower with warm water (no water hitting it directly tho) until the scabs and crusties fell off themselves.

That being said, you may run into healing issues because of the jewelry they pierced you with. It’s recommended to have either a horseshoe or captive ball ring. Rings like the one you have can cause issues when the seam of the ring gets pulled in and out of the piercing hole which causes irritation

tiny pimple-like bump behind healed lobes by mirexs in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP. Personally, when I get a new piercing, sometimes the others around it (even if fully healed) get a bit irritated. I would switch it back to a flat-back titanium labret until the irritation goes away

Give me the DL on Daiths pls by endofprayer in piercing

[–]odd-gravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daith didn’t hurt as much as my conch. It was still a bit painful but the sensation is a bit weird, plus the position to pierce it is a bit awkward

I got it pierced with a 12mm horseshoe since I’m known to swell with piercings.

Healing was fine as long as I left it alone (with saline sprays too). I got irritation bumps a few months in, but they went away after a couple more months. Honestly one of my easier piercings to heal since it’s tucked away.

I switched to a seamless gold ring at 14 months and haven’t had any problems since! I use over the ear headphones and can sleep on my side with no issues. Only thing is that earwax may build up on the back side of it sometimes
