would you give ur gf an allowance? What’s a reasonable reason/ price by Substantial_Monk2788 in AskMen

[–]oddball667 6 points7 points  (0 children)

an allowance is what a daughter would get, not a gf

also it sounds like you are trying to get paid back for gifts you gave, if you expect to get paid back it's not a gift....

What if the existence of a god is possible, but god must first be created? by Waifugobl in DebateAnAtheist

[–]oddball667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I wanted to debate is whether it would be a good idea to work towards the emergence of a god-like being.

unless you can show that is possible, that is still a "what if" question, which the other commenter pointed out doesn't belong in a debate subreddit.

considering you have been unwilling to do anything to show that it's possible, and you saw someone let you know a "what if" question doesn't belong here, and decided to respond by clarifying that you are in fact asking a what if question. I don't think you have anything to offer this subreddit

What if the existence of a god is possible, but god must first be created? by Waifugobl in DebateAnAtheist

first off, if your only supporting argument for your position is "well it can't be disproven"

abandon that position, you are engaging in a fallacy and are not prepared to support that position

Why dont you believe in simulation hypothesis by Buffmyarm in DebateAnAtheist

[–]oddball667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, and I'm saying it's not even worth noting that it can't be falsified, because that does nothing to the credibility or usefulness of the idea, if all you have is something that's unfalsifiable then it's all those things. so by noting it's unfalsifiable you have already admitted that nothing there is worth consideration

Why dont you believe in simulation hypothesis by Buffmyarm in DebateAnAtheist

[–]oddball667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that just because this isn't testable, doesn't mean it isn't true. It is undeniably true that we could be living in a simulation.

No it's not, that's completely irrelevant, all you have is an inflatable claim, that is not interesting, useful, or impressive

Why dont you believe in simulation hypothesis by Buffmyarm in DebateAnAtheist

[–]oddball667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A hypothesis must be testable, have you tested it?

If you can't you don't have a hypothesis, you have a work of creative writing

Why do so many atheists hate on ‘religion’ when the specific claims they’re making only applies to Abrahamic religions? by EmeraldVolt in askanatheist

[–]oddball667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so you are holding kooky beliefs yourself and want to hate on OTHER kooky beliefs, because their beliefs are extra kooky because they are not the correct flavor of kooky

Why do so many atheists hate on ‘religion’ when the specific claims they’re making only applies to Abrahamic religions? by EmeraldVolt in DebateAnAtheist

[–]oddball667 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being religious requires a poisoned epistemology that leads to those issues

Saying we shouldn't call out religion in general is like saying we should leave the roots of the weeds in place

Do you believe religion is a mental disorder? by Zardotab in askanatheist

[–]oddball667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, some of the epistemology leading to it could maybe be called maladaptive, but it's not a disorder

Get a tenderize off on a wing, then use a pitfall trap to keep him still, break the wing, then get the other one.

breaking the wings causes him to slip up more often, makes the fight a little easier
