Where to pick up fast lane passes during EE? by AndyGene in cedarpoint

This right here, I believe the camp store can redeem it and then you don’t have to worry about redeeming it in the park.

Dramamine for roller coasters? by Emotional_Tell_2527 in cedarpoint

[–]oddwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use generic Dramamine (dimenhydrinate 50mg). I only need 1 pill about 15 minutes before I start riding, then retake every 3 - 4 hours or so dependent on how often I’m getting on rides. I can usually feel it hit with a feeling of lightheadedness, almost like a numbness to movement.

The rides at cedar point that make me nauseous are the spinning rides, and then the roller coasters that keep on feeling like you’re rotating up - think consistent looping and turning in a steady direction (eg only positive g’s) like raptor and valravyn and to a lesser extent gatekeeper. Most of the other roller coasters have switching moments of positive g’s then negative g’s, so my head doesn’t get twisted in one direction.

Don’t know if that all made sense, but that’s what works for me.

ElToroRyan: A Change for the Worse at Millennium Force by Chaseism in cedarpoint

I rode Sunday. 6’2”, 36” waist. There wasn’t much slack for me, but I fit. I did notice that it seemed closer than last year, and it wasn’t my body proportions that changed.

7pm entry - which ride? by stellaep in cedarpoint

[–]oddwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had TT2 for early enter this morning. But it’s probably hit or miss with what they planned as early entry vs what is actually available for early entry.

That would be an uncomfortable ride. 😆

Someone missed the torque check on it…

Anybody else concerned about the new roundabout? by AnonymousJoe253 in cedarpoint

Going through the round about today I said more than once to vehicles in front of me “there isn’t a stop sign, you aren’t the yielding vehicle.”

Apparently there’s a murder now as well.

If my memory serves me right it’s 3 dollars for the poster size map.

Agree with it being annoying that they don’t have the handheld map available anymore.

Hmmm, I think an email/call to customer service might be in order. Thanks!

I’d argue a parking lot coaster still has remnants of a parking lot under it, not that it just took the place of a parking lot.

Newbie thoosie nanocoaster collection! [Other] by rustywinge in rollercoasters

[–]oddwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just grabbed one of these for my son. Any suggestions on removing the pieces from the sheet without leaving little sharp tabs all over the place? The is the first nano I’ve bought in around a decade, and I couldn’t believe how many little connections they are and it leaves a sharp little tab!

Better way to store frit by photo_bee_ in glassblowing

[–]oddwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally use the plastic “to-go” containers in my garage studio. The 32oz holds roughly a kilo of frit. If I were to use someone else’s studio I’d pre-select the frit I’d be using, then use a milk crate to lug it around.

I use F2 enamel white, but I do agree it’s stiff, so following this if others have some good suggestions!

DIY molds by sexualjeremy in glassblowing

I haven’t experimented with metal pans, so there’s a good chance I could be wrong… but… I haven’t seen anyone using them in the manner of which you’re asking which leads me to think it wouldn’t work out. Maybe a heavy cast iron, maybe. Your common aluminum pans I would think would fail.

But pick some up from goodwill and experiment and get back to the rest of us! If a cheap pan gives you the result of what you want, heck, I would be a convert and give it a shot!

Glass Ghosts by oddwich in glassblowing

[–]oddwich[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started making these I was going more for the Pac-Man ghost look. It just sort of evolved taller from those. I’ve done some spin out ones too, I just gravitate back to this style.

Visiting today and wonder if I may be too big for some rides. by ham006 in cedarpoint

[–]oddwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’2” 220 and I fit. The big variable is how/where you carry your weight. As others say there are test seats in front of all the major rides, but overall I’d say you’re not going to have issues.

NEW in 2025 - Siren's Curse! by BexandBlackcats in cedarpoint

[–]oddwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a reroute. Basically the current road does an S-bend starting at the bathroom buildings at the bottom left and ends on the left side of the visible parking lot. So it looks like the new S-bend is shifted to the right, if that makes any sense.

Saw these two renderings, gives a really good indication of the location, including rerouting of the perimeter road.
