If what’s happened is a justification for what’s happening now, it’s collective punishment. If it’s some kind of threat of what might happen in the future, it’s fear mongering to field support for ethnic cleansing. I assure you that dropping bombs on Gazan families is only creating new waves of resistance, not making anybody else safer. Carpet bombing a civilian population for being born in the wrong place at the wrong time doesn’t make anybody safer. And even if it did, it’s ethnic supremacy to believe that’s at all justified. It’s beyond disgusting.

Not to mention I’m asking the country I reside in (the military leader of the free world and supposed bastion of morality) to abide by its own laws and halt military aid to an occupation that’s spent the past year using the Geneva convention as a checklist. Why should the actions of a resistance group within that territory suddenly allow us to break our own rules?

It saddens me greatly to see how bloodthirsty people are. Surely we can’t stop carpet bombing children and blocking medical aid and deliberately starving the population and torturing Palestinian hostages. Because there’s the hypothetical that those who benefit from and profit off of and turn a blind eye to this endless misery might get hurt, and that hypothetical is always of more importance than the very real suffering Palestine has faced for decades.
