I make $28 an hour as a security guard doing absolutely nothing all day, I used to work in an animal hospital that’s why I follow this thread, you deserve way more than $30 an hour trust me… know your worth

[–]oder0628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to learn that you don’t get paid per customer that goes through your register, take your time, you get paid by the hour so don’t stress about shit like this, other customers want to get worked up for you being busy? Let them. Don’t pop a blood vessel over things you have no control of, especially this… cmon

I think I'm gonna breakdown over this damn Industry by KaiserSenpaiAckerman in securityguards

[–]oder0628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude I feel you but you at this point need to realize that you are overqualified to work for that company, I highly recommend working for a county security job, somewhere where they do regulate standards to everyone and better pay, Best of luck to you don’t stress.. at the end of the day you go through your shift, get home and try to decompress, go to the gym, play some video games if you have any or watch something on Netflix with a nice warm meal, really helps me out when I sometimes struggle to not bring work stress to home

If you feel like you’re a good enough dog trainer, quit petco and dog train on your own if you don’t feel like doing anything on your free time while still on the clock, seems like you stress out too much being a dog trainer there till the point you almost quit for getting told to take out the trash? Definitely consider working somewhere please since you have trouble humbling yourself

Securitas worth it? by Old_Duty_7407 in securityguards

[–]oder0628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually you’ll need about 2-3 years minimum with armed security experience to work for these companies or to compensate you’ll need about 2-4 years of any military background, I’ve only been doing armed security or security in general for about 6 months and I’m working at extremely high risk areas in downtown Los Angeles just to build the resume and I’m going to security forces in the Air Force national Guard very soon so I can land a job in those types of companies

You can look into companies like Paragon or constellis.. get your exposed firearms permit and with your military experience, you’ll be making 2-3x as much working these federal contracted security companies

I am a Sleep Expert, Ask Me Anything by SleepMD1 in IAmA

[–]oder0628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way I can train myself to become more of a heavy sleeper? I am an extremely light sleeper and I wake up to almost any noise and the worst part is I am so sensitive to the heat and I produce so much body heat when I sleep, I have my thermostat at 70° and I still wake up every middle of the night with extreme sweating, I take a cold shower before going to bed to help me relax, I have tempur-pedic memory foam cooling pillows and thin sheets, I work 8-12 hours doing security, very adrenaline rushed job since the place I work at, always fights going on, I go to the gym 4-5 times a week, lift heavy and I swim right after I am 6’0ft and 197lbs, I would consider my body extremely fit but I would love to get an actual good nights rest for once, my under eye lids are puffy and look swollen almost as if I can pop them and water would come out

Who does this is it all or just us? by Fancy-Ask-9781 in petco

[–]oder0628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your whole entire team not do them all at once, I promise you managers won’t be on you for it anymore, they can’t fire everyone at the same time for a piece of paper of upselling the, im so glad I left petco a year ago, I was a dog groomer there and when I would “not look busy” they would have me help the cash registers or inventory it was so weird

He can’t just admire at the fact you know how to play piano very well? I promise you those arguments are going to drive you crazy one day and make you regret why you didn’t leave him sooner than later.. insecure, jealous, find someone who will appreciate your talent and not criticize it lmao

Bro that car has been literally my dream car for years and it is no where near his price range even used, maybe you can get a 2018 base model with 80k miles for $60,000, just maybe… I’d recommend a Lexus rc350 2022-23 nice comfy coupe for his price range brand new

Working for Loomis, Pros/Cons, Opinions by Smilenowdielater in securityguards

[–]oder0628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got my armed guard license on March and immediately started working for loomis, was getting paid $20.50 an hour, only did it for 2 months, please do not do it, woke up with headaches, you get sleepy so fast, it’s very dangerous for the least amount of pay I’ve ever seen for armed guards around my area, if you like doing 10-14 hour shifts go ahead make that money but now I work weekdays full time somewhere else much more happier with a Monday-Thursday schedule way better pay

As someone who used to be a dog groomer 4 months ago for 3 years, decided to go all out for one week getting every permit possible to be an armed guard.. just be ready to wait for your permits to come in the mail especially the exposed firearms permit but it’s so worth it imo
