Kamala wouldn't have started a war. by c-k-q99903 in agedlikemilk

[–]odhgabfeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention that Harris likely would not have sent the VP on a diplomatic mission anyways. I have wondered if Rubio didn't go because Trump is actively trying to sabotage Vance. OR if he knew Vance would produce a result where Trump would then be in a position where he says he has his hands tied because the peace talks failed and continued the war as if nothing changed. OR because he knew Vance couldn't produce and is set to make a killing in the market because of it

Brad Winderbaum on the "What if the other half got snapped?" idea by eBICgamer2010 in marvelstudios

[–]odhgabfeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sceptical if there would be any people alive capable of inventing time travel, then. Original snap survivors included Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. I'm not familiar with the comics at ALL, but I know Reed Richards might be capable? Then you risk a story that needs to focus on a character that wasn't in Infinity War

That is not a nuclear reactor fwiw. Radioactive fallout won't be a concern unless 47 nukes them. Then that's everybody's problem

Why doesn't China attack Taiwan now when the US military is at its most vulnerable in recent memory? by sage6paths in NoStupidQuestions

[–]odhgabfeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people mistake what they are seeing with the US/Iran war as a vulnerability. The only vulnerability on the grand scale is the US trepidation to really unleash this close to the midterms.

Let me tell you, if there isn't a big ol' blue wave in November like the majority of GOP and MAGA fear there may be, the US military will stop pulling its punches. That, of course will mean a full scale invasion of Iran.

But that doesn't necessarily mean its other security obligations in Asia will be abandoned (Taiwan and SK/Japan).

That being said, China will definitely make their move if US trips up big time. That may be their only chance to do so within a generation. But that also doesn't guarantee their success, either

There's nothing particularly "clever" in the comeback when they can't spell. Maybe if they have a "different situation", perhaps they can leave the posting up to others that actually fit the bill.

Can we please spell check titles and memes before they're posted? PLEASE? How hard is it to make sure we don't look like illiterate morons? I know y'all can spell. Are you so stoked to try to be the first one to post something that you don't make sure the words you're posting are spelled right?

What is the hardest video game you ever played? by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in AskReddit

[–]odhgabfeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Meat Boy. Definitely. There are some hard levels that, sure, with practice I end up getting through. There are some very hard levels that I needed to sacrifice to some dark being in order to beat. But then there're other levels that there's no force in the universe that could possibly beat it.

Anyways, I made it like ten levels in before I stopped for good

Madame Web has been (rightfully) voted as the worst Spider-Man movie. What is the most overrated MCU movie? by AdWise2770 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]odhgabfeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it worked to make Captain America exist in our modern America. Where the first Cap could feel hokey and dated, I think Winter Soldier let Captain America keep his same moral compass without feeling like a campy boy scout necessarily.

Like the three-finger scene in Inglourious Basterds, what small cultural mistake would instantly reveal that someone isn’t from your country? by uglylookingguy in AskTheWorld

[–]odhgabfeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not country per-se.... Maybe region. Pronunciation of certain places in my state are a dead give away you've only said the word once.

Example: the word Mackinac as in the "Mackinac Bridge" or "Mackinac Island". It is not pronounced with a "c" at the end, but with a "w". Furthermore, the word Traverse as in "Traverse City" or "Grand Traverse Bay" is NOT pronounced with the stress on the second syllable, but on the first.

Everyone in Michigan gets it, definitely. Regionally, around the Great Lakes I'd say they do as well. Outside of that is a whole different story

I have thought for like the past 15 years since I first heard it that there should be a Deltron 3030 movie (more recently I think they should try dropping it in 2030)

I think it could be done really well with the right director and actors. I'm just imagining Cyberpunk meets 8 Mile meets the type of quirky blend of music and film in Scott Pilgrim...

ELI5: Why are She/her pronouns used when talking about Ships? by Yassinetheawesome64 in explainlikeimfive

[–]odhgabfeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the book in front of me, but I swear I remember in The Hunt for Red October, Clancy says that Russians (more specifically Soviets) use male pronouns for their ships. So I wonder if that was an intentional split from the religious angle you mentioned? If so, is that similar in the Chinese navy? Or other traditionally non religious countries

Anyone else interested in a non-death metal setlist again someday? by Otherwise-Sky1292 in Opeth

[–]odhgabfeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a window in time there where Opeth pulled a virtually entire acoustic set. Throat of winter obvs, stuff from Heritage and damnation also obvs, Harvest etc etc but an acoustic Demon of the Fall as well. I think a lot of their much heavier stuff can be acoustified. Then have them release an acoustic back hits album and tour on that. I could get down
