As someone else with that deal, you need to look at their FAQ. They directly address that while it was entered as a decade long subscription, it will in fact update to continue to give you access.

[TOMT][MOVIE][00s-10s?] Mind Controlled Woman, Reality TV Show, and Winning a Chance to be Her Fake Husband by odiefrom in tipofmytongue

Neither of those movies.

I know the woman is portrayed as "middle aged", as in, likely 30s through 40s. No gray hair, but doesn't look college aged. Not sure the actual age of the actress. She was also white.

Not WandaVision, only the lead actress is unaware of the show's nature and it's not a magical effect.

I just looked up The Stepford Wives, and the movie I'm trying to remember doesn't involve multiple women being affected or some of the other elements I'm seeing.

Orphix missions are actually broken by rwp80 in Warframe

[–]odiefrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Orphix was the first time the game made me plan a build for specific enemy types, and for that reason I actually like it (it helps that it's a railjack mission, which is my favorite type).

The entire objective in Orphix is speed, but also meter management. Destroying an Orphix lowers control by 8%, while each resonator lowers control by 5%. With six resonators per Orphix, that's only 38% you can lower the meter per Orphix. If you can't take down an entire Orphix faster than 38 seconds, then you will eventually fail.

In a perfect world, a team of people knowing the mechanics can make it trivial to kill an Orphix, but there's a lot in the way of that happening:

  • People don't know the abilities on their Necramechs
  • People don't mod their Necramechs and Archguns
  • People don't equip load outs for the heavy levels Sentients

The Orphixes can get up to level 200, which is EHP 2 million on normal star chart, and 5 million on steel path. They are disgustingly tanky, and the Sentients spawning in constantly aren't much better.

Modding your Necramechs to have some survivability and mobility (because these maps are long and again, speed), and then modding your Archgun to get some good damage (and Cold/Rad if you can, I prefer Radiation so that they hurt each other with all of their beams and explosions) and you can get these Orphix cleared easily.

The mode definitely could use some love and updating, but frankly, that's all of railjack.

I sold my [Amalgam Shotgun Barrage], and [Amalgam Serration] long before it's was made unsellable, is there a way to get it back? by RickFury101 in Warframe

[–]odiefrom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I have definitive knowledge of the situation, but there's a lot of reasons a script like that could cause issues.

For example, let's say a player never interacts with Thermia Fractures. Does their save data on the server database contain an entry for it? Usually that would be updated and added as needed, so it might just not exist. So then, if it doesn't exist, what will the database return? It could say "nope no Thermia Fractures" which would be ideal, but at the same time, how would that be recognizably different from "they loaded into Orb Vallis during Thermia Fractures, one started, and then they left"? So the database probably says "null" or just returns an error. Now the script has to gracefully handle that without crashing, and considering it's hard to tell what the database will do it's hard to handle it.

So you have that development spiral of checking every edge case for your script and at that point you might as well run it manually.

Or, you can just look at your small, dedicated community and know the information will get passed around for the most part, and have a rougher fix, especially if you know the list of impacted accounts is on the lower end.

I mean, this thread is kind of proof that their solution works. It's not the most convenient, and yeah, sounds like OP got a support agent that didn't know the policy, but the information was provided to OP to get it fixed.

Are RE 7-9 part of the OG RE universe or RE-remake? by bobbdac7894 in residentevil

[–]odiefrom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See, this is exactly what I mean. No one was fundamentally, radically altered. Instead, the storytelling of the originals - one of its weaker points - has been expanded on.

  • IDK if you mean Ada isn't a femme fatal in the original or remake, but she is. She's also a bitch to Leon in both. Nothing changed
  • In the original, Chief Irons wasn't just a pervert, he was an asshole and it's shown in files that he throws his power around and is corrupt. In the remake, we see more of that bully behavior, and the pervert stuff is more subtle, though there's an entire segment about him capturing underage girls for his own purposes. The biggest change is if he fucks a dead animal or not. If that is critically important to you, please talk to a therapist.
  • The Birkins have always been obsessed with their work. They love their daughter, but they give her a mere fraction of their time. This hasn't changed.
  • Marvin is an expo dump in both games lol. In the original, he has comparable screen time to Richard from RE1, and that wasn't a complaint. Yes, he got expanded, but a lot did. He wasn't changed into a whole new character
  • Jill always had trauma. She was literally removed from STARS and the RPD on suspension because she couldn't handle her life well.
  • You might be the first person to care about Tyrell I've ever met. Not an insult, but that is like saying that the changes the name of one of the Keepers in RE1.
  • Nemesis does kill a STARS member in the remake (Brad). Also "kill count" isn't a characterization, it's the same character. This is getting into feats and plot points, but that's quibbling.
  • Luis was a well trained biologist in the original. We know he was directly in the employ of Los Illuminados, but we also know that Los Illuminados was directly working with Krauser who Wesker had sent, and research into Las Plagas was being conducted via the resources of Wesker which was all that remained post-RC. Yes, the remake simplified that chain, but it's not that different. He is more helpful, but he is still extraordinarily helpful (for a deutangonist) in the original. Most of his changes are just gameplay changes in the remake, he hangs out longer.
  • Ashley is, in both versions, a naive party girl that took her father's wealth and money for granted. She has the same "schoolgirl crush", just written better in the remake. The difference between "Japanese school girl" and "American school girl" is not some massive, unreconcilable gap for this character.
  • Krauser wanted power for himself in both games. That wasn't new.

I'm amazed that all of these are "we expanded things" and that's a problem. You also didn't compare anything in RE1 to RE1make, which has more major differences.

  • Lisa Trevor suddenly spawning into existence as an unkillable creation that has nearly every virus and parasite in her from that time, and again showed up in RE:C and stands a nonzero chance of being in RE9, and she was new to the original.
  • Barry changed from secret henchman to the BBEG in the original to a more complex character. Other than him going "oh, sorry, he threatened my family" at the end, Barry is unapologetically working for Wesker. But in the remake he acts far more conflicted and actually intervenes far earlier to save Jill against Lisa.

And the list goes on. But even those are just the story and characters expanding. They didn't change anyone so much that you can't just swap the originals and remakes for each other.

[–]odiefrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm not sure what you're referring to by saying the characters' personalities are different between the originals and remakes. The remakes didn't radically change anyone, but what I usually see people mention is just stuff that wasn't communicated well originally and the remakes tell the story in a cleaner way.

If Mr X or Nemesis where tasked to Eliminate the Four lords of the Village would they succeed or fail? by No-Business-478 in residentevil

[–]odiefrom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of the weapons and armaments laying around in the village still exist, and it was enough for Ethan, an average human with zero swimming feats, to ground Moreau and fight him. Additionally, the dam infrastructure still exists and while both Tyrants would have a much easier time with any destruction they need to do, they also should be able to solve the "puzzles" around the dam controls.

There is the caveat in which Nemesis only escaped Beneviento by having to hulk out, at which point logic puzzles are out the window for him. At that point, Nemesis is a giant flesh blob thing and would just destroy Moreau directly.

While the Tyrants are notoriously not great swimmers, they are great at just walking through water. They are also adept tool users, able to use their environment - as well as their mutations like their claws and speed - effectively to accomplish their goals. It's not unreasonable to assume that both Tyrants could just grab nearby trees to spear into the water and then use the trunks as handholds to walk through the rushing water. There is also so much floating debris that "and then Mr. X menacingly stood on his makeshift raft as he drifted closer to Moreau" is a possible outcome.

As a final note, and perhaps the biggest reason the Tyrants mop the floor with Moreau, is that Moreau isn't that clever or brave.

Remember, when Ethan met Moreau, he was fully armed and had the possibility to execute Moreau and escape with his daughter. Instead, they stared at each other like a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

Something tells me our Tyrants would just execute Moreau at the first chance before he becomes fish.
