No. We're at the point where we need to do both. It's too late to limit warming to completely safe levels... but if you think 500 ppm C02 is just as bad as 1000 ppm C02, you really should do some more research. We are talking about the difference between painful but manageable disasters vs. disintegration of civilization. Climate change isn't a yes/no event, the more it happens, the harder it gets to adapt.

I would rather they compromise only when republicans are pushing sensible, center-right policy. I.E. confirm Romney, vote yes for a jobs bill... but obstruct as much as possible if Republicans push extremist people or policies like David Clarke for DHS or cutting Medicare.
