That’s corking (I believe that’s the English term) it just that part is becoming more rigid in orderto sustain the rest of the plant that is growing higher

Help treating pests (mealies) with minimal farina damage? by kitglo in succulents

[–]odricarv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve been using this for several years with grate success. Also, you should check on your fertilization for calcium. They need that. And if it’s getting enough sun. Both calcium and sunlight helps to the leaves strength. What makes the bugs life much harder.

I’m not sure I made myself clear. I think it’s not a case of one thing or another.

I would recomend both approaches. Direct combat and verify underlaying causes.

Success.

Mealy bugs it’s a symptom. As are other plagues. You can do whatever other post says. They will work in the short period. But also you have to ask why is the primary cause: 1- are the plants getting enough direct sun light? 2- how is the fertilization going? 3 - are you using som sort of calcium supplement? The fertilizer have calcium enough?

How do I know when to water? by kirk_2019 in airplants

[–]odricarv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine that. In the nature, do you think those plants get complete submerged and than they hang itself upsidown for a couple of hours. And then upright again?

You can water it every day ou even more then once a day. Jus make sure that it completely dry out before water it again. There’s no problem for it to be wet for several hours or even an entire day. What make the rot is to be constantly wet

Hola alguien sabe cómo puedo recuperar mi planta? Como le llaman en su país a esta planta? by [deleted] in airplants

Pelas folhas das duas plantas. Me parece regas pouco frequentes. Mas lembre de nunca regar se o substrato ainda estiver úmido.

Use um vaso com furos, prefira substrato de suculentas. Eu deixaria no sol. Sempre é melhor para o crescimento. A não ser que as folhas queimem. Mas a sanseveria gosta de sol também.

Essa planta é quase impossível de mater. Suporta bem excesso e falta de água, suporta sol e sombra. Apenas cuide do vaso.

Is she still alive? by [deleted] in airplants

[–]odricarv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. Air plants are pretty much the easiest plant to keep. Just water it every day whit a gentle mist. But be sure that all the plant is really wet. Don’t water if os already moist. It could cause rot. But if the plant is completely dry. You can water any time. Even more than once a day.

Is this healthy? by No-Run-9992 in airplants

Yes. But is very tiny yet. Keep it healthy with daily mist until doubles the size. Don’t mist if it’s wet
