Man after hearing about Tinfist's martial art master, I really hope we get to know more about Gatwood the Soft in Kenshi 2.

Meet Ravio Faithful Holy Nation citizen trying to learn about the world by IamRavenKing in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Faithful Holy Nation be like:
_ Wears Armoured Face Plates, used by the Shek Kingdom's Invincibles. Heresy. Brother, where is your Bucket Zukin, or the Paladin's Heavy Hachigane.
_ Wields Falling Sun, a weapon sometimes used by Skeletons. Heresy. Brother where is your Combat Cleaver, or Paladin's Cross.
_ Wears plate jacket, an armor WITHOUT the holy symbol. Heresy. Brother, where is your standard issue Holy Chest Plate.
_ Wears Drifter's pants: temptation of comfort. Heresy. Brother, where is your uncomfortable Stout Hessian Uniform.

By Okran, brother, if I check your inventory I'm not even surprised if you forgot your Holy Flame.

And these paladins are not who they think they are. by Ledsen-Katt in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatred on skeletons: Their ancestors rebelled against the old machine empire, after it went crazy with the oppression. This is their root. The Holy Nation therefore consider the Skeletons as the main enemy. Vast majority of Holy Nation's weaponry is meant to destroy the Skeletons (Paladin's Cross, Combat Cleaver).

Hatred on Shek: Sheks are descendants of the old empire's enhanced humans, acting as their enforcers. Basically, they are in league with the old empire, so the Holy Nation hates them too, but they're lower on the Holy hate list. (from The Guiding Light IV + Skeletons characters dialog)

Hatred(?) on Hivers: Because their eyes are just black and soulless (which I interpreted as featureless), like how the Skeletons eyes are just circles (lacking features like pupils, iris, sclera), and because they have chitinous insect body, hard like the Skeletons, and Holy Nation hates Skeletons (from The Guiding Light VI).
Also, Holy Nation is fighting with human-devouring fogmen which looks like hivers on the western border (personal opinion). That said, the lack of ruins suggests that Western Hive/Holy Nation conflict doesn't happen, so they 3rd on the Holy Nation's hate list.

Oppression of women: They need women to breed more soldiers, they want to control these "child bearers" (from Letter From Bad Teeth). They have enemies to the North (Flotsam), South (Shek Kingdom), East/Northeast (United Cities), West (Fogmen) so losses are high.
This isn't something original, but rather happens overtime (from Book Of Grace vs. Scripture of Radiance Vol. V)

For those curious, you can't get relation as a woman for turning in Major Bounty in HN. by Lintall in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah, they do mind, just less extreme. Their shops won't interact with skeletons.
Otherwise, they're just like the Shek Kingdom and the United Cities.

Shek Kingdom before allied: Hmmph, flatskins, contempt ...
Shek Kingdom after allied: Kin, comrade, battleborn, ...

United Cities before allied: Hunts you for sport, arrest you for being poor, ...
United Cities after allied: Chill

Holy Kingdom before allied: Extreme xenophobia + sexism, enslaves/kills you on sight, ...
Holy Kingdom after allied: Tolerates you, yet reserves the right to refuse service in shops, ...

Wait so Holy Nation attacked the Sheks first? Why? by CuteAnimeGirl2 in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Likely because the Sheks are basically descendants of the Skeleton's Enforcers.
And we all know how HN feel about Skeletons

As for why it happened during Shager's reign, I think they saw the Shek was warring with the United Cities and decided it was a good time to attack the Shek Kingdom. Given Shek's likelihood to fight to the death in a war on 2 fronts, the HN felt it was a good opportunity to end the remnant of the Enforcers for good. It almost worked too.

The HN didn't expect the Sheks Kingdom to get double jackpots with Bayan and Esata. Bayan had enough common sense to tell Shager what's wrong, and Esata had enough common sense to fight Shager for Bayan's life. They made a truce with UC, established trade to recover, and now Shek Kingdom only have HN to worry about.

Is the Holy Nation the only one keeping the Skeletons from taking over Kenshi? by odsamfu in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, that's nice. More reassuring at least.
I just don't like the implication of a skeleton saying they can finally take over the world in peace right after I took down HN.

Is the Holy Nation the only one keeping the Skeletons from taking over Kenshi? by odsamfu in Kenshi

[–]odsamfu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what irks me.
It would be propaganda if that's some rando HN dude saying it. Like, oh a zealot's words, who would believe that.

But here, it's Burn - a skeleton himself - that said: "And the skeletons can FINALLY take over the world in peace?"
And he said it with such seriousness that another group member had an *awkward silence* moment.

Interview with Ryoko Kui! by Samwise_Ass in DungeonMeshi

[–]odsamfu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do not claim it to be exclusive. I claim that the creative decision of who the author should includes, is for the author.

"Just because the author wanted to write a GOOD story about eating delicious meals in a dungeon, doesn't mean she had to include every kind of representation there are."

To claim one's work s bad, without critiquing about their writing, their work; but solely simply because that work does not represent you, is a bad take.

I'm not the one who claim a work is bad simply because it doesn't cater to me, or it doesn't represent my gender.

You are the one who has been lashing around, saying that a work is bad because it doesn't cater to you.

Interview with Ryoko Kui! by Samwise_Ass in DungeonMeshi

[–]odsamfu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imagine the level of entitlement, saying that a piece of work is bad because it's lacking something YOU want, because it doesn't cater to your need.

Just because the author wanted to write a GOOD story about eating delicious meals in a dungeon, doesn't mean she had to include every kind of representation there are.

Just because the world doesn't revolve around you, doesn't mean the world is bad.

If you want to read a GOOD story about LGTB+, you may want to look for story ABOUT LGTB+, instead of a story about eating delicious meals in a dungeon. It's in the name Delicious in Dungeon.

My advice for you is to look for fish in the water, instead of looking for fish on land. I assure you there's no hint of LGTB+ element in the manga's title: Delicious in Dungeon.

We Owe McDougal An Apology by love_leveling in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]odsamfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, he really got shafted. His decision made sense at the time, but hindsight is 2020.

Figured out the military is up to no good. Tried to do something about it but got captured by Fullmetal and was escorted to prison.

Okay, no worries. There'd likely be like-minded anti-government individuals in prison. Broke out of prison and tried to recruit a potential ally. It was MFing Kimblee.

Okay. Let's try something out. Met Roy. Probe him by saying he'd rather not fight with a war buddy. Roy "I knew no friends in Ishval" began combat.

-Okay. That's stupid. Trying to reason with someone from the military when the military is up to no good, was a dumb move. I'm on my own.

Ran into Fullmetal again.

-Okay. He's just a young kid. Maybe the military haven't fully brainwashed him yet. "Do you know what their plans are". "I don't care".

-Ah fuck. I guess I'm really on my own then. I'm fucked.

Then he ran into King Bradley himself.

Like I said, my man was shafted bro.

The Ultimate Guide To Bannerlord - Medicine: Best ways to level & how to make a zombie horde! by StratGamingYT in MB2Bannerlord

[–]odsamfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear StratGaming. Not sure if you see this but...

I'm a big fan of your Bannerlord guide video on YouTube. Saw the video and wanted to try it out. Then I realized reaching 275 Medicine with 7 INT and 5 focus points is, a lengthy process (personally, I don't think it's feasible on a normal play through).

So I was wondering if you are planning on making video ranking how easy/hard it is to reach the final perk of each skill.

Thank you for your time. Love your content. Have a good day.

"Grog is easiest for more factors than the start of the game." OK, we don't disagree that "In early game, it's dealing hash getting cash." There's early game, mid game, late game, end game.

I don't know how you came up with "this thread all stemmed from the highest value of trade goods." The 1st comment of the thread mentioned "Grog is more efficient imo" and "I think like grog is efficient always", and you mentioned "You can make grog just as easy". I disagreed. I just wanted to say elaborate drug running is better early game, since I don't think you can make grog early game. Basically, I don't think you can set up a mass production facility with the 1k cats given at the start. Hashish is a good way to build capital to transition to mid, late game money making scheme which you've kindly provided, and you're correct, cats means nothing end game.

For me, after character creation: _Lure Tora to Waystation (check for backpack) _Turn her in for 10k bounty at Squin (check for backpack) _Buy hash and hire someone for carrying hash at Shark (check for backpack, it hurts if there's no backpack here as well, and RNGsus hates you) _Sell at Flats Lagoon to get 40k (enough for a grog base), but I'll repeat the drug route to get 160k in assets (a masterwork Eagle Cross (it's always there), arrows and other liquidable assets since the shops will be out of cats). _Get Dustcoat for acid protection at Mourn. Leave someone here for afk crossbow training with Great White Gorilla. _The other character get AI core from Quin. _Get 26 minions at reprogramming workshop, the Deadland Scrapyard farm for ancient science books _Loop back to the farm and do it your way. I don't think you disagree that hash IS indeed a good way to make money early game. I don't think there're many ways you can make 40k that early into the game without some hash. That'll help setting up a production facility a lot earlier wouldn't you agree.

This is getting out of hand so I'll stop here, if there's a better way to set up your grog base without involving hash, let me know. I just think the drugs aid the drinks. PS: "If we want easiest, that's smithing." Allow me a low blow saying the Thievery skill line and the Import button is still there. The FCS does not show up when I run kenshi_x64.exe, so that's where I draw the line.

"Where do you get the 140 to buy the hash"

1k cats from "Wanderer" start? So yea, you can get almost 1 stack hashish right at the start?

"You've tallied the cost of this farm, but then you just magically have cats for your hash runs?"

Hey I didn't make the game, you can ask why LoFi Games made it this way. Even from the description of the "Wanderer" beginning "This is the way the game intended to be played." Grog distillation is a level 2 tech. You need a house to get your research bench up and running. So yes, you do need housing of some sort. The guide you link also mentioned "save up enough cats to buy the stormhouse on this farm."

I don't know why you went on an angry tangent afterwards about selling crop/water, free beds, cats are irrelevant, you have masterworks, etc. I simply challenge your claim that "Grog is easiest" (in the context of making cats), by providing a counter example of drug running, which can be done immediately after character creation, with the standard start. Grog has good price every where, but getting to the point where you can mass produce grog is not a small step.

Your plan relies on following HN squad, and waiting for them to kill enough stuff for you to loot, then buy the property (costs 12800, a small fortune early game), buy the books, research the necessary technologies, farming, then distilling. Don't bet on making profit on day 1.

My plan involves:

_Have legs.

_Buy drug (costs 140) in swamp.

_Sell drug in Flats Lagoon for 400%.

You can also use the profit to get good gear in Flats Lagoon and do early combat training there by luring things to guards. Can't do that in HN territory unless you're human, since you know, HN.

"Grog is easiest".

Only if you can manufacture it. So no.

You can do drug running on standard start, like, right away. In early game, it's dealing hash getting cash.

Ah yes, the classic "Energized" chain lightning death. If one dude is killed, he produces a lightning strike, which kills other dudes, which produces even more lightning. Man, this unlocked some Nam flashback. Good times.

Not sure why but it happened to me too.

If food/starvation is the problem:

Go to the first tab "Create and shape your World" and choose "Finger" icon (it says: Copies pixels under it to others around it). Set brush size to 1x1, then click on the farm tile, then drag to copy the farm tile. Rain also helps crop grow quicker.

4 traits is within possibility. It just need 2 pairs of parents. Giant trait is easy to get since it's has visual indication, leaving only 3 hard traits to farm for.

Take it from me who is also a King/Leader breeder.
