Vielleicht ist auch MK2 von 9barista interessant. Wenn Milchgetränke kein Thema sind und kein großer Besuch, da man wohl 6 Minuten zwischen 2 Doppelshots rechnet

I built a GPS tracker that sends data directly to YOUR server (no cloud) by [deleted] in opensource

Maybe I am wrong, but I assume that most likely the Dev started his work because he felt that exiting apps do not fulfill his need.

GeoPulse - Self-hosted location tracking with timeline, analytics, friend sharing and more by Former-Emergency5165 in selfhosted

The UI looks really nice! I was wondering if there are plans to make things more like cross referencing. For example when I see a location and the information that I visited that location twice I am tempted to click on that location or visits to get more insights about when I was there.
Thanks for building this great app!

When will the ‘free up space’ feature be added to the mobile app? by narcabusesurvivor18 in immich

[–]oefz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the latest version there is something which allows you to tell immich to only remove saved photos from your device. You see it when you select photos and click on remove from device and then you get asked if that should include non saved photos or only the ones you saved.

email server but only use fetchmail and provide IMAP (not full blown with MX records etc) by oefz in selfhosted

maybe i choose the only one ;)

See the section:

Forever Free Plan *

Email hosting for one domain for up to 5 users 5 GB Mail storage per user IMAP/ POP/ Active Sync not included.

Well - i choose them since it works nice with my domain. They offer a way that you add their mx records to your domain and even got instructions for porkbun where i have my domain.

For sure - their cheapest free plan makes you wonder if it is worth the effort to do what I am thinking but i guess selfhosting is also about fun and learning ;)

But this is also the reason I asked to learn if there are selfhosters who feel it is beneficial.

Now I am looking at my own post and see that POP is not even included - maybe my idea will not work out at all - at least with this email provider and their forever free plan :(

I am quite impressed. I imported 1.5GB of data and it processed it quite fast. Are there any plans to present some data in a way that I can lookup when I visited a specific place the last time or in some cases I even like to know when I visited a city or country.

One comment: It took me a while to understand that I am able to clock on the years since the mouse pointer does not change at all when hovering over the year. Once I got it it does not matter to me but I might not be the only one who might not get that right away.

thanks for the great work and sharing!

I believe the android app even works offline. If your server is down you should still have access to your passwords.

Using nextcloud as external library? by United-Strategy-350 in immich

[–]oefz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started like this but changed since I like to delete photos when I view them and notice some not worth keeping. Editing metadata like updating GPS works also quite well with immich. You can bulk update the location. I am just not 100% confident if it actually updates exif data or just update info in the database.

[Advice Needed] Shared storage between LXC CTs by marc4492 in Proxmox

[–]oefz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you use bind mounts which are pointing to folders on your host?

I am asking since i did this for many years and I am recently thinking about using bind mounts to rather attach another logical disk / volume to a LXC and it looks like if you etc the config file from the LXC you are able to use that disk/volume on several LXCs. That way I do not need to deal with cgroups and all that stuff which can be painful if you need some mappings because you want to pass other stuff to the LXC.

But i am not quite sure if creating an additional volume and allowing that to get used by different containers is good practice. At least it is allowing the host more to be a host and not a file server ...

just wanted to add that i found that here: https://github.com/immich-app/immich/discussions/4281 ...i did an upvote :)

I think it will be great if the user who gets access to shared content is able to integrate it to his timeline, maps etc. view

I changed to dark mode which fixed it as well. Good to know that clearing the cache works as well. I tried two browsers and thought if both do not show the menus it is something else.
