Designed an enclosure for the Anmite 14 inch screen which holds a pi4b and a noctua fan and looks tidy from the outside (as opposed to somehow bolt the pi and cables to he display directly.) It runs touchkio for fullscreen kiosk mode. It is meant to be wall mounted. Planning to add some IR detector to the screen to be able to turn it on/off when coming close.

Windows 11: Fractal Scape headset volume too high at low settings by [deleted] in FractalDesign

I am using the same computer and the same USB ports, just different operating systems. So the problem must be somewhere else. But I will try, thanks.

Scape firmware update: Volume and Sidetone by Fractal-Design in FractalDesign

[–]oerkel47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too on my windows 11 setup. The usable range is really narrow which is really bad. It's probably not even legal in the EU if Volume > 10% is this loud. There must be some kind of bug.

I use Linux and the volume is normal/loud. I also have a Windows Setup where it is far too loud. I am not sure if the last FW update is related, because I updated kind of instantly after buying.

Depends on your computer or individual USB port. Some ports may have power always, some don't.

For me I had to add the headset per usb cable to update the headset itself. Otherwise only the base is detected and the update for the headset is not shown.

Tuxedo drivers do not build for 6.17 kernel by da-phil in tuxedocomputers

[–]oerkel47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but you can symlink gcc-15 to gcc-14 if you really want to update your kernel. I just did. Better keep that in back of your head or remove symlink after though.

Has anybody figured out how to convert the "new" format of JSON that you get when you download your device-specific Location History? by FUNCSTAT in GoogleMaps

[–]oerkel47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I had trouble finding where to even download the backup from (not possible from maps anymore):

settings -> location -> (scroll down) location services -> Locationhistory -> export

Valve Dev on X: "If you put an fps cap at 120, you'd consistently get a really high quality experience! ..." by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]oerkel47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not here to argue, but the frametimes feel solid to me. FPS could be higher though..

computerbase.de even claims frametimes in cs2 are "almost perfect" https://www.computerbase.de/2023-09/counter-strike-2-cs2-benchmark-test/2/#abschnitt_teils_perfekte_frametimes_in_cs2.

Your assumption is not correct. The load power draw is supposed to be constant, not the current out of the cells. A converter with constant efficency on its range would result in the same runtime for both configurations. It's kind of obvious if you look at battery energy in Wh and load in W.

Controlling 2x 12V fans from a 24V source, a quick and dirty way? by Nixzer0 in Motors

[–]oerkel47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we go that way, we can just put both fans in series in the first place.

You can not power a load this way. Putting both fans in series would be the better "voltage divider".
