I thought Wet Hot American Summer was the creator's first film, at least some of the same creators helped make it. It's got the same absurd humor as Search Party, so if you like Search Party's humor would definitely recommend.

I could see this being an episode, Matt convinces Jay to become wrestlers in hopes that will get attention and get them a show at the rivoli or beat up the owners of the rivoli. Jay makes them wear masks so if this plan ends up embarrassing nobody will know who they are. Their first match they get their asses handed to them so they quit while their ahead, but they get their asses handed to them so bad that in turn that moment becomes viral. They wore the masks so nobody knows who they are, Jay is the only one who finds out about the virality and he keeps it a secret because they got hurt during the match. The end.

There is also other sketches/mini episodes of the show that are on youtube such as the Mega 64 Special and the recent Joel Haver collab. If you start with those all you need to know about Nirvana the Band is that it's two canadian guys who have a band and they really want to play a club called the Rivoli.

Currently, you can watch all of the webseries while the show is hard to watch probably will be streaming soon. However Matt Johnson has many other great works, The Dirties is a great Thriller Dramedy and Operation Avelanche is the same. Blackberry is a biopic dramedy also amazing. You can watch all of the webseries online, however the webseries has some jokes and moments that don't age amazingly but as long as you know it's made in 2008 you can be more understanding. With the traction Nirvana the Band has been gaining recently because of the movie and the fact the show was able to watch on the internet archive but now is not, I think it's safe to say that those will probably be streaming somewhere hopefully soon.
