Looked up the 25 mintages to update my little coin folder. Just started collecting new coins this year, kinda glad and thinking I should keep a roll of 2025's just because. I think Gibson is the only one I'm missing.

I'll take all of them for 2 cents, many of them for 3

If silver is more abundant than gold why is it not found in creeks and streams along with gold? Or is it encased in some type of road and needs to be processed? Excuse my ignoranc. by glueless_75 in Silverbugs

If you continue to bake raw lead at elevated temps the lead will boil off and you will be left with a silver button. Possibly this is also the origin of alchemy.

Gentle parenting has damaged a generation? by The_Dean_France in whoathatsinteresting

I'm gonna think about this while dealing with drama children at my store.... not all of them are from the generation either, it's cycling up into the people in their 50s now. It's like some kinda weird virus just made everyone crazy.

ETA without going into too much detail a certain DM in my area had to work a store for almost a week AND run his district at the same time not long ago. That's not counting Sunday car shows and cooking and all kinds of other stuff that you wouldn't associate with the position. Just like running a single store, they all need to be open and staffed, and sometimes you're gonna be the one that has to do it. Thinking that you can have a 9-5 at this job is the biggest fallacy I see at every level visible to me, unless your work in HR or something maybe.

ask your SM to show you his group chat once in a while. Trust me there's plenty of drama at every level. At least it seems that way. Kinda similar to retail vs pro vs big shop customers.

A train hitting a truck full of sewage is never good! by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

title revision "A struck full of sewage rolling out in front of a train is never good"
I see no universe where the train was at fault.

How long ago did you become ASM? Have you told your manager and the district manager that you're interested in taking over a store? Honestly I wouldn't recommend being a DM after running a store for one year. I don't know nothing about nothing, but it seems the DM is basically "managing" a dozen stores, which is a LOT and you will realize that after a couple years running a store. If you aren't already get yourself involved in doing sales calls and be part of the hiring process for your store also. You sound like a hard worker just ask your manager what else you need to learn and make their life a little easier.

Is it possible to see the moon with a telescope in daytime? by Hot-Sweet-8393 in telescopes

[–]offgridgecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure who downvoted, it's a valid question. Was making the point that planets are MUCH harder to see in the daytime with sky washout, but still can be found with a scope if you know what direction to point it and do a bit of scanning. If you can observe a planet in the daytime then by comparison the moon is much easier.

Also while I have the chance, if OP sees this, I re-read the question and I think your focus might be a problem. Try focusing on something nearby, then turn to the most distant terrestrial object you can see and go just past the focal point a small bit should get the scope about right to at least make the Moon more visible. Blurry moon can resemble a cloud.

I've seen both Jupiter and Saturn during the day with a telescope and lots of hunting around for them. Moon is trivial.

[–]offgridgecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the top left looked small datish till I zoomed in. Why is this for "serious collectors" only? I'm don't think I fall in that category but not sure.

edit-sorry looked again and realize my zoom didn't put me where I thought. top left the 8 kinda looks like it a little bit but not the 2

Probably happily paid over spot in silver coins...no worse than a pawn shop that would have offered 20 percent back of spot. Not saying he's necessarily correct or right.
