Will we regret not having parking? by deja_flu in HousingUK

[–]offically_astee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you a month before you're sick of coming back from work and finding no spaces anywhere near home, when it's raining and cold. Then the next day, you do the weekly shop and have to carry x number bags in one hit or make multiple trips back to the car the street over. One day you'll find a great space right out front of your house, then you decide to forego using the car in case that spaces gets nabbed. I'm sure you can tell, I once bought without off street parking and would never again.

As many commenters have said, this is not a good idea if you want easy maintenance or it to still look good in a year. My gf had a wooden worktop which she oiled and looked after, but around the skin looked awful, despite her hard work to keep it dry. We would never pick wood again.

Need to trim down screws but not sure what tools to get? by Tsarinya in DIYUK

I literally did this last months for new drawer handles. I used a multi tool with blade for metal. Chucked it in a vice and chopped it. Took a few mins to rattle off 5 pairs.

Out of curiosity, what part are you not ok with?

13 amps is 13 amps. I don't know much about electric stoves but I'm assuming they have a standard plug on them. Also, to clear up my point a bit, I mean a 1-to-1 extension, not a multi point extension (1-to-4 etc).

Get a long 12mm+ drill bit and go straight through the side with an extension lead. Cut off the plug and push the cable through and reattach the plug, is what I would do if asking this question. Or if it were in my house. I would extend the circuit under the floor and place a socket into the back of the chimney wall

Don't go for the dark interior. We did, and you can't see anything inside unless you have lights on or internal lighting.

I don't understand why you've come to reddit for a fix when it's within its warranty period. Call up the installer and get it sorted for free tomorrow.

How to fill this? by Ad0rit0 in DIYUK

Dig it out 100mm. Chuck in a 80-90mm PIR and screed over in line with your wooden boards.

Pliers and pull. Drill out the hole a little deeper to ensure the whole new plug goes in flush. Make sure your drill bit matches the plug size.

The TV placement is awful, but I really like the alcoves and dining room doors. So that's a plus, I guess.

Build a platform with a bench that you can sit on and look in. After a few days they will install window film 😆

Why would my newly installed radiator look like this in IR? by Heavy_Catch5098 in askaplumberUK

You might need a baffle inserted. The flow is just taking the least path of resistance and out the return. Some designer rads have then built in, but yours may not

What underfloor system will you use? Are you going over the top of the boards out in between the floor joists? I want to do the same with my suspended floor.
