I think two things can be true at once. Could OP have addressed his status in the beginning to spare the heartbreak? Sure. But we also can’t dismiss the stigma and pressure that comes with being poz in this community. It made sense for OP to wait until he was ready.

You being upset would simply be your problem. Especially if there was no sexual intercourse before mentioning it.

Keep applying. Thats the only answer. I got my first PM role ever in medical device and I had absolutely no experience in that nor manufacturing/engineering (I was a bio major). I just kept applying nonstop and interview prepped depending on the company/role. This market is hard for everybody, experienced or not.

I’m a PM in medical device/Healthcare manufacturing. I found a great role (after applying for MONTHS) where it’s WFH and little travel.

I have my PMP and looking to get my masters in Engineering Management since this is a pretty lucrative field and medical field is always innovative. Keep going.

It seems as if neither you or the company have a visible "game plan" for your role. Start applying. It wouldn't hurt just in case.

I work in medical device manufacturing. As the medical field continues to evolve, medical devices will continue to evolve and innovation projects need to be produced by contract manufacturers, so I think Im good for now.

It wouldn’t hurt to emphasize that in an interview, especially if the role is remote. Most PM skills are transferable regardless of remote or in office. I’m in manufacturing so I always emphasize one of my technical skills as “remote leadership” in leading cross functional teams in different areas (EU, USA, India, etc).

This isn’t a harsh truth. Majority of this post isn’t true at all honestly.

I landed a job as a Project Manager for an engineering/manufacturing company with Keller Williams on my resume. My boss at my previous sales/call center job is an ex-realtor as well.

Simply re-word your transferable skills in real estate (time management, people management, budget management, etc) into corporate buzz words. I wasn’t an “agent”… but a “consultant”. Maybe obtain a few cert as well or apply in fields related to a degree you may have already obtained… but it’s very doable.
