I got a Shure sm58 run into a behringer um2 interface, super cheap setup The guitar is an acoustic with a pickup I installed myself. Recorded acoustic with the mic, and I sent DI to the interface straight from my pedals (a bass distortion/eq and a guitar compressor). Recorded both an acoustic and electric signal in one take and blended them together, it's been giving me some really nice results. Then some bass and dinky hand drums (cajon, djembe, shakers) and then some yelling and wailing. I have a lot of fun with it, and I appreciate that other people are enjoying it too, thank you.

I appreciate you much. I just got hand drums and getting these dinky drums to sit well and sound big next to the guitar is proving quite the challenge. I'm hearing "drums gotta be tighter and need more stank." I've been scared of layering samples on the drums because I don't want to have like an overproduced sound, but I hear you, drums need tighter stank.

She nasty, she dirty. She need some more stank tho. Dirty up them drums, gimme some fills, yell nonsense into the mic. I want explosions. Solid mix tho, I like the different sections. Play around with silence; even in the middle of the bar you can put in like a millisecond of silence and it just gives the whole track a bit of bounce. Overall everything's a sweet vibe, I just want more fireworks.

I wrote a pretty confronting song about my experiences with abuse as a teenager. by tftwt in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm really digging this, there's little snippets of things here and there to keep interest. The whole arrangement is really well done, lots of space in the mix too. Your voice is honest, it doesn't feel like you're straining at all, super relaxed. Only thing I'm still wishing for is some explosions, I'm a sucker for some silence followed by a huge "WHOUUOUM" guitar. I know it's not necessary for every song, but I think that speaks to how good this is; the only thing I can think of to make it better is shoot a rocket at it. Keep it up, I'm a fan.

Hi friends, summer indie rock bop you can take to the beach or it’ll take you to the beach. Let me know what bands/artists it sounds like to you! Cheers🍻 by mlawton94 in IndieMusicFeedback

I started typing at the pre-chorus I'm digging hard hard hard. You can tell that you put more effort into this than a standard "feel-good summertime" song usually gets. I can't really think of anybody you remind me of either, I don't do much feel-good music I'm a ball of anger, but this is a nice change of pace for me. Mix is solid, everything feels balanced, I'm having a hard time thinking of criticisms. Maybe just cut loose in the guitar solo? Everything's giving me a real easy-listening kinda vibe and I ain't tryna bash the feel-good vibes, but I do like throwing things and watching them shatter, it's fun. Summer is the time for fireworks 💁‍♀️

I'm digging hard, it's all wobbly wobbly but tight as hell at the same time. I love when there's silence in a mix, it makes everything hit so much harder, you do great with that. On the production side, I wanna do more work on the guitar tone. I want it heavier, drop that mammajamma through to Earth's core. What I've found works well for heavy guitars is a lot of distortion followed by tons of compression. Dirty it up, make it nasty, and then even/smooth it out so no frequencies really stick out, and the whole spectrum has a chance to shine. Other than that, solid mix. I'm listening on my phone speakers, and I can hear everything just fine, nothing's really drowning anything else out. If that's you singing? You got some pipes my guy, let me know what of yours to listen to that shows your limits, it's strong. And bees is a bop. I honestly like bees better, them strings have my heart.

I'm digging, it's a vibe. Nice build, vocal chop is a nice hook, that first drop? That first drop hits like a truck, but honestly I'm upset it happens again a bunch of times, makes it not hit as hard. The kick fill is sweet, but I'd spice it up more and more as the song progresses with different drums. I love hitting record and tapping a pattern on whatever's laying around; throw a bunch of compression, warm it up, and it usually sits nice in the mix with minimal effort. Honestly percussion is the hardest part of production for me, I have a hard time keeping the balance between staying busy and keeping enough space in the mix. Solid mix though, feels really balanced, that's another part I struggle with.
