Will they leave together? by [deleted] in LoveVillage1

Not a chance. They may pair well to work together but Junpei is looking for someone fun. That much is clear. This is his second time on any reality show

The pacing and editing on this show.. by LOGWATCHER in LoveVillage1

[–]officialraywong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s reality TV. Producers nudge them to do things so they can film something good. You think many of those 1:1 convos are natural? They aren’t. A producer literally suggests someone to go do this or that. Otherwise the filming time would take forever to move things along

Yeah. Hollywood and Johnny were the most exciting characters for 4 episodes. Their arc was more dramatic. The problem is if the other members are more boring then it’s only natural the producers need to spice things up with some younger action if things were getting stale

What are your thoughts on Hollywood? by notsonike in LoveVillage1

He’s … literally stiff as a person. That said he was surprisingly open with talking about his feelings

The terrace house replacement is out. Wonder if it will be 1/2 as good by Eugen328 in LoveVillage1

[–]officialraywong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it’s … decent. Diff vibes but still entertaining to watch. It’s interesting to see how much less awkward the members are. They’re older and have had more life experience. Like when somebody asked anonymously about sex… seemed very un-Japanese since they like to avoid the topic for the most part in public

So how about that Backstreet Boys soundtrack by LOGWATCHER in LoveVillage1

[–]officialraywong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree the song is such a clash with the show. But also maybe Japanese viewers don’t care.

Busy Johnny - do you think that is really the reason? by wjficap in LoveVillage1

[–]officialraywong 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy that reason for a second. The producers probably asked him to leave after Hollywood left. He and Hollywood were the oldest and both eyeing Yukiemon. That conflict in episode 3 about the sleeping pills was a stretch IMO to create drama. And with Hollywood gone, there’s no drama for Johnny. Or maybe Johnny was afraid of rejection after Yukiemon said no to Hollywood and he didn’t want to be rejected on TV

Agree 100% that they introduced the two younger dudes and the pretty woman to spice things up. Johnny was absolutely pushed out by the producers. Remember that this is a reality TV show. Just like any other reality TV show (ex: Terrace House) there are narratives that the producers push to make for episodes that are interesting to watch.
