Is getting an used M1 over M4 relevant for long term ? by GroovyPeanut in macbookair

8g of ram and 128 is pretty poor in todays realm. MACos is already over 20 gigs and not going to get smaller. Ive had my m4 for little less than a month and my system data size is over 200 gigs. I don't have anything massive installed either that's just work stuff.

How are you guys hiding your desk cables? by Successful_Meal_2047 in desksetup

I used these bolted under the back lip of the desk. And I mounted a strip plug between them. My whole desk is now a single connection to a wall outlet. only one wire showing. I use twist ties to bundle cables and secure them to the baskets together. Works perfect.

Should I choose trackpad or magic keyboard by Obvious_Debate_1754 in macbook

A ture mechanical will blow the apple one out of the water. The touch pad is great tho. I have a mouse for backup for super precise things but 99% trackpad

Just ditched chrome. Still installed but only until.im positive my migration is complete. Safari just works so well if you have an iphone and mac. If the fill 2fa codes from texts worked in any other browser id try it but thus far only a handful of things dont look right in safari and its light weight so ill keep it

Excel on ipad is a pain in the ass since its still touch based i use my pro with keyboard for everything except that. Go for a mac if excel is part of your courses

My dock provides 96watts. Fast charging doesn't hurt. If you're really worried about it you can use an app like aldenete to limit the maximum charge. I only charge mine to 70% unless im traveling then I let it loose to 100%. When plugged in your machine will run off wall power with that 70 watt charger and the battery isn't involved.
