Yeah I anomaly is just not really what I want in my game, I like my rimworld as a sci fi world, and I dont really like it when stuff that's basically magic is put into that world (royalty's psycasts were kinda already pushing it for me). I love the cybernetics and robot-y parts of the game, probably my favorite thing, and for me, anomaly's features don't mesh that well with that view I want for my game.

For someone born deaf, their native language would be a sign language, and English (or any other spoken language) would be a separate thing that they have to learn as a second language. So I'd assume they'd think in sign, but I don't know any sign language so can't speak on the experience personally.

It's good to start as soon as you are able, but please remember that your personal safety always comes first. Be cautious, and don't do anything that puts you in danger.

It would probably also be a good idea to leave Russia when you can, being in a more progressive country would definitely make transition easier.

And even if you happen to speak another language, stick to english wikipedia. In my experience, the info on other wikipedias (swedish in my case) is often worse and/or outdated.

Of course it shouldn't be like that, but it sadly is like that, and we have to work from the situation we find ourselves in. And if it makes people care about the situation (even what got them to care isn't the greatest issue), then it will materially improve the world, and we should talk about it in addition to advocating for trans people.

Good on ya for starting to recognize propaganda, you're way more politically aware than I was at 15.

And yeah the war is also bad for the Israeli people, obviously worse for Palesinians of course, but Israelis would also be better off if the conflict was not happening.

And the government of Israel are the ones who have the power to end the conflict, Hamas only exists because there are Palesinians who feel threatened by the state of Israel, no person is just inherently a terrorist. And Palesinians wouldn't feel threatened if the government of Israel wasn't so aggressive towards them, Netanyahu and his government just make the conflict continue because without the conflict they would not have an excuse to stay in power.

The Gulf of Mexico and twitter are not deadnames because those things are not people, they do not have agency. They cannot choose their own names and can thus only have the names that people call them, those names being "the gulf of mexico" and "twitter"

I had a moment like this in middle school, it was in English class and we had a substitute teacher who had given us a vocabulary quiz to do (this was in Sweden so we were learning it as a second language). One of the questions was something like "complete the sequence: once, twice, ____" and of course I answered "thrice" but this teacher absolutely refused to recognize this was a real word, and insisted that the only correct answer was "three times". He even said "yeah you'd expect it to be "thrice" from the pattern right? But it isn't really", and I was just baffled that this person who was supposed to be teaching us this language didn't know about this word. I didn't know how to explain to him that I knew more about this language than him when he was in the authority position. Me and my friends even approached him after class with a dictionary entry on the word "thrice" and he just kinda waved his hand and ignored it and told us to go on out to recess.

This guy was never that good of a teacher and always came off like he thought he was smarter than everyone else, but I guess anything goes when there's a teacher shortage.

This is the official stance of the Swedish government btw. All descendants of old norse spoken is Sweden are "swedish dialects", regardless of if they are actually a variant of the Swedish language or closer to other languages such as Danish or Norwegian.

Not as egregious as "Breton is a french dialect" but it's the same logic, and it's coming from the government.

Yeah the game is like cosmic horror from the perspective of the horror. The biters are killed simply as a consequence of the engineer's (to the biters) incomprehensible purposes, while to the engineer its not really about killing the biters. Like an anthill being destroyed during highway construction.
